Right Im a rugby player (hooker) Ive broken my left ankle 3 times and tore the achilles tendon in my right ankle. I need to loose about 2 stone in weight to be back to my best. Problem is whenever I go jogging all I can think about is my ankles and for some reason they get unbearably sore real quickly. I am nowhere near fit enough to do my pre season training. anyone know any good advice on loosing weight quick with the intentions of keeping it off once I feel comfortable on my ankle again. Pills, Electronic machine thingys, any advice. I go the gym but all I really do is swimming now because I found that I put on aload of weight when I was doing weights

Sounds like your ankle may not be fully recovered, I would advise getting the all clear from a doctor etc before going back into serious training. But in the mean time I guess swimming is your best bet along with weights, I certainly wouldn't advise doing any jogging until you get the all clear, even then you might want to use an ankle brace.

Go to a physio or a Doctor and ask them what's causing the pain and what you should do to prevent it.

I'm afraid that's as far as this thread will be allowed to go, no medical advice and whatnot.
