You may aswell be asking do women think Dragonforce are good.

TBH, you're asking a very generalised question, you can't really answer.

EVERYONE is different, they all have their own tastes. You're asking if Half the worlds population like redheads, and if the few women on the site would speak for the entire world...

I often find something very cute about girls with red hair. A couple of lovely redheaded ladies come to mind too. I was going to say "When you think of red headed blokes all you can picture is that Bosco fella" but I think the jury is still out on the gender of him....her.....it. It. We'll settle for 'it'.

Very general question really, and if this was 2108 you wouldn't even need to ask....why? Well....

    http://news.softpedia.com/news/Redheaded-People-Will-Be-Extinct-in-100-Years-64837.shtml

Personally, I'll miss them. A little.

    meh there not!

as for ginger hair on guys (coming from a redhead her) it depends on how severe the ginger is tbh.

What about that big hunk of ginger then ladies?

I could fill a bus (and not a minivan, a proper bus) with cute ginger ladies that come to mind off the top of my head, but the males all look undeniably like something off Podge and Rodge.

like every hair colour, its nice on some fellas, not so nice on others! my fellas a ginger and he's a looker, then again there's people who it doesnt suit so well! each to their own....

I think it depends on the hair colour and skin tone.

but no, I have reddish hair so I avoid redheads :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,469 ✭✭✭Pythia

At the end of the day, people obviously find redheads attractive or the redhaired 'race' would have died out by now.

People like to say they don't like it, but most of us redhaired people manage to find some one special!

To be honest, I don't like ginger hair. I just don't find it attractive, nor the pasty skin and freckles. That doesn't mean I wouldn't go out with a ginger guy if he was really lovely, but I wouldn't be attracted based on looks alone. I know loads of girls who don't mind it though.

I don't mind ginger hair at all.
I think Bradley from Eastenders is pretty hot.
    Something about Josh Homme aswel
    Both gingers!

My OH is a ginger, and I think he's gorgeous :) but his hair is more of a bright auburn than the sterotypical neon orange-y ginger. He gets awful slag for it though in the town he's from, only his family seem to be ginger there, gets shouted at a lot

I luuuuuurve my ginger-headed OH - it's kinda more a blondey-red than fire-engine colour... but TBH, it's all about the person, the hair colour is just peripheral to the package....no pun intented ;)

from reading the various posts by people on this thread, ive seen so many interesting opinions...and reactions to this thread.

as a lad, from reading this, its pretty good to know that some girls find it attractive.

but what bothers me is that, why is the subject of ginger/"red" hair constantly brought up in conversation? I have noticed this in recent years, whereby it will suddenly crop up...strange that.

now,as we all know,ginger/red hair is one of the many, typical cliched sure signs of "irishness"...okay?
But what baffles me, is that a lot of irish people, like to say they are "irish",you know? some people like to make a big deal out of it,and fair enough i guess...but when it comes to the controversial topic of ginger hair,if it does happen to "crop up" in conversation, like i said earlier, there seems to be a bit of attitude towards this ginger like state...

Is it that im listening out for it all the time? am i on "red alert"(no pun intended),in the fact that im actively listening out for it and ready to pounce at any given opportunity?? help me.

Oh,i think im taking this thread a lil off topic,i do apologise.
if there is any other threads devoted to this topic, please, send me a link,or sumthin,i dunno.

No idea, I used to have dyed red hair and was constantly called ginger. No one goes around to me now going 'omg blondey' :p My OH is ginger and he gets shouted at a lot, things like 'your head is on fire'. He ignores it but I get really angry and have been known to shout back a lot. :o

    yeah,just read your reply,again,interesting response.

im just baffled by the attitude of some people as regards hair color....i like to get to the bottom of things, some people have a problem with different things, different people, different sh**.but they seem to have no reasons to back up their points,,,its really lame,laaaaaaaaaaaaame..

i dunno,i guess its gonna be one of those unanswered questions.

    ugh.

What about Rex on BB. I know he's an annoying c**t but he's not a bad looking ginger guy. I think some ginger guys are hot....

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,283 ✭✭✭PrivateEye

Anyone I know who really gives people with ginger hair a bad time, generally speaking don't seem too super-happy with themselves and if it wasn't ginger hair it'd be something else they'd be ****eing on about....... just morons being morons.

One of my good friends has red/ginger/whatever you want to call it hair, and I make the odd smart comment but she can give the odd one back herself and it's all in good spirits. Tis cute, suits her. A bit of slagging is friendly enough, and as said above if you want to gather a group of Irish people up in a room.....there's probably a fair few redheads in the pile.

I wouldn't worry about the colour of your hair folks (boys or girls) and if that is the most of your worries, things could be a lot worse.

If you're a ginger bloke, I wouldn't be too surprised some girls find it attractive. Again, as a male I'd like to think they're a little more concerned about other things, and providing it's not a proper bosco mop you've got growing up there (which probably wouldn't look too super in any colour) I REALLY doubt most sane minded women will go 'Oh god, ONE OF THEM!!!' and do a runner.

You'll never be judged on your hair colour. Saying that, I tend to like girls with ginger hair...but I'm a weirdo ;)

its not just the ginger hair but the pasty complexion, freckles and inability to tan. i dont think i could cope with all of that.needless to say i am not attracted to redheads in all the variations. no offence red haired peeps

I'm a woman and I do fancy men with ginger hair on 2 conditions:

    The hair must be long
They must not have that ultra-freckled pink skin that some gings have.

Some of the hottest men ever (in my opinion) are ginger:
    Axl Rose
    Dave Mustaine
    Alexi Laiho.

GRRRR - when will Irish people stop using the word 'ginger' which is an obvious slur on Irish people created by the British?

(above statement may be opinion rather than fact. terms and conditions apply)

Seriously though, think about it - the word has been commonly used in England for years and suddenly now Irish people are using it, and not only that but there perpetuating the English dislike of all people pale, freckly and red-haired - sound like the stereotype of any nation you know?????

    Are you with me Scotland????

OP to answer your question, yes, plenty of women like RED HEADS!

Too true. The idea of getting flak for having red hair in Ireland is bizzare to me, wtf is wrong with people  So far I've only ever gotten compliments though, despite being one of the revolting pasty kind... maybe, just maybe, it isn't automatically ugly? :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 62 ✭✭xXxhotstuff xXx

i HATE the word ginger.. i was once told ginger=someone who has not nice red hair, redhead=someone who has reali nice red hair.. red heads do tan it jus fades alot quicker i find myself although i am proud to say i didn burn out in spain this year but got a good tan i still have the outline of the bikini even though that was nearly 4weeks ago.. anyway i dont see anything wrong with red hair and pale skin its as simple as some people(regardless of the colour of their hair) are ugly and some are f*ckin sexual!!

well im a readhead,, and im going out with a red head for nearly 2 yrs now,, ive got nice read hair, and he had dark to but he bleaches his hair. hes unreal and every girl thinks so... duno just depends.. with a lota guys over time ther red hair turns brown?.. 2 red heads is a bit odd thu.. sorry old post just came across it:cool:

An ex of mine dyed her hair purple once. I thought it was kinda cool, but it didn't make her any more or less attractive in my eyes really.

If your hair suits you it suits you. There's a big myth in this country that red hair's a bad thing, but that's just a child's stereotype, in the same way that kids with glasses or curly hair or freckles or the black kid are mocked. It's just kids looking for something to slag you about.
