Card for 26" Monitor

Any recommendations for a graphics card for a 26" Samsung T260, Its for a custom machine I am getting from Komplett. I have looked at nvidia 9600gt, ati 4850 / 4870, would be used for games, would two 4850's in crossfire be better in terms of cost \ performance.

Minimum 4780 or go whole hog and get a GTX280.
Otherwise crossfire/SLI or wait for the 4870 X2.
