I've just done a mass clear out of the water bottle press at home. We had hundreds of the blasted things. The protein shakers were the most manky and given that there are 2 people training 24 times a week between us, we need to restock. Could anyone suggest where to get smallish (say 400-500ml), descent quality shakers in bulk.

    Thanks

Why do you need so many of them?

I have 2 and they do fine. Just curious

Sorry, sometimes we (more Mr HM than me) don't get home for 3-4 days at a time
    2 people x 3 training/day x 4 days = 24 bottles.

I know I could wash them out in the gym but I quite like knowing they've been through a hot wash in the dishwasher, anything that has shared a bag with my trainers need serious cleaning ;)

Do they have to be the smaller size? 700ml ones are easy enough to find cheap (try discount supplements . co. uk) Here's a listing on ebay for 20 X 600ml ones would work out at about €60 including shipping though

Edit: Wait just found this - this isn't too bad £2.50 for a 500ml one, i have got free delivery from them in the past so if it applies it would not be too bad http://www.discount-supplements.co.uk/shopexd.asp?id=7254

They sell them en-masse in Ikea in Belfast believe it or not. They were quite small ones (4-500ml if I remember correctly). Can't remember the price, but since it's Ikea, they were most likely dirt cheap.

I saw them there with Malteaser, maybe she'll chime in if she can remember!

ikea recently sent me an email with all sorts of questions asking if I was experiencing stress because I didn't have a home gym? It was very strange but they must be branching out! I expect to see pine, flatpack benches soon!

You could maybe try giving Mickk here a shout? I am not sure if he does the smaller shakers but he may be able to help you out with contacts for a big enough order?

Thanks for all the replies, it turns out that Mr Hunnymonster was on top of it by the time I got home last night. He was most upset when I insisted on throwing out the old ones and has already sorted replacements.

Herbalife. They're 400ml and pretty sturdy as we've had them before. The smaller ones are perfect for the amounts I need and easier to pack in with all the other kit.

Any chance of a link? I couldn't find any on herbalife.com but I'd be interested in some smaller shakers. The ol' backpack's fairly jammers these days.

I'll get the phone number from the guy tonight and pm you. That's how we got them.

I hear you on jammed back packs. I've taken to driving my car into work jammed with the week's needs on a Monday morning, biking or running my way home for the week (minimum 22 km) and then driving all the dirty kit/bottles/bike parts home on a Friday evening. I'm sure security think I'm nuts.

These shakers are a bargain. Excellent design too http://www.myprotein.co.uk/products/accessories/mp-blender-bottle/

The blending ball in that link sounds good. Maybe a marble would do a similar job.

Some juice bottles have wide mouths that you could possibly funnel powder into.

I have a mini blender which is perfect for shakes, the smallest container is only around 250-300ml, and the bigger one is around 600ml, this means you do not end up with loads sticking to the sides, like if you put a small amount in a regular blender. You can stick ice cubes in with the shake and it crushes them making it all ice cold, the high spinning also froths them up really well. I also use if for oat pancakes in the morning, again little is lost since it is a small container nothing much sticks to the sides.

They have them in dunnes from time to time, about €40-45. Also have them new on ebay. €45 here from spain including delivery

They are a few quid less from the US, BUT it is 110V so will not work! unless you have a step down transformer, but you also risk having to pay duty.

It is a juicer too though I never used it for that, you get lots of containers with screw on lids so you can make stuff and easily pop it in the fridge without having to scrape out into another jar. It is dishwasher safe though after a shake I put water in, cap it, shake it, drink it, then rinse out again.
