The Funeral of Mr. Orestes

Dearly Beloved, we are gathered here tonight to celebrate the passing (like fecies) of Mr. Orestes. And may his soul, and the souls of all the unfaithfully departed writhe in agony within the firey depths of daylight.

    Amen. (My cat's asleep)

/tak takes to the mauve alter and clears her throat.

Good evening, and thank you for coming. :)

I'm not sure how many of you are aware of this but orestes has given himself over to the light side. He is deserting us (Not desserting as in throwing puddings at us - Oh no) to rejoin the real world and indeed, spend his days - Yes you read right, days - under the cancer ball.

In light of this recent outrage and having explored all possible alternatives (lynching, gang rape, a 10 minute stay in the luxury Total Perspective Vortex, A night with Brian Cowan and even an extended stay in Ballyjamesduff - A death sentence, We know) we have come to the conclusion that our only course of action is to settle his earthly account.

I must stress that we are aware of how popular Mr. Orestes was within the forum and in light of this, we have decided to have this one thread dedicated to his memory. Please feel free to share with us your most treasured (or miserable) memories of Mr. Orestes.

I should also mention that there have been faint whispers of a second coming. We are investigating and will keep you updated.

    _______________________________________________________________

Right. Now that that's over with we can get on with the party! :D
/pulls her hair down. Everyone please grab a drink or two if you're that way inclined.

Anyone got any memories they would like to share?

At least say what/if you'll miss about Mr. Orestes? :D

Frankly I thought the only good thing about Mr. Orestes was his hair! :D

I knew he'd abandon us eventually! That bastid! :(

And when I think of Wee Nerin! How could he do it to him huh? He's heartbroke wee nerin is! :(

Damn you to hell Orestes! :D

(And for anyone confused, orestes is leaving us for the month of August and No, I'm not responsible for it! :D)

    Well Joe,

He's joined a new church. One where they demand that you come to them and work for the month of August to work tending the sheep (heh) for them.

They also demand that you cut your hair (That's it orestes, we're over! Over I tell you!) and that all your money be sent to them.

So he'll be away tending sheep and cutting his hair off!

    /sob

    I knew I shouldn't drink!

I'm truly shocked. Had such grand schemes in motion but now with Orestes's untimely passing it's all for nought.

Alas, Mr Orestes, he was a good man...always willing to help out in arguments(didnt matter which side he took it was all good), being there in times of need when our resident protectors were off fighting zombies, even went as far as to shun the cancer ball to get provisions for us:(

But taking that trip from the darkness into the light was a brave one, and i hold my glass high(nothing too special, just enough to whet my tastebuds) and salute the honour of one so special.

Maybe it was the stress, maybe it was the fear of Lysander, our resident hybrid trained by the lovely Takola to hunt after him should he step out of line or fail to give her a scone, i don't know. But he will be gone out of sight, never out of mind.

Watch you from the Darkness, we will. Protect you from zombies, we must.

I owe it to his memory to leave some cookies on his gravestone.

As a tribute, I will also deposit a large, but gently steaming turd, with a pink ribbon.

It's what he would have wanted.

Don't worry, it's just zombie orestes.

I'll give him the cure (a dose of the shotgun) next time I see him

In fairness it's hard to miss with the shotgun - especially with all the upgrades. I prefer a headshot with the Chicago Typewriter myself.

Alas, my friends, it is true. My innate need to make an arse out of myself has called me to Edinburgh for of August where I will humiliate myself on a nightly basis for the amusement of strangers (so it will be just like being in here for me really :D).

The threat of the cancer ball was one I took seriously, until I realised that Scotland is probably the only place in the world that gets less cancer death rays than Ireland, so I should be ok.

So yep, I'm not gonna be around much for the next month or so cos I'll have very limited net access, but I'll try to drop in every now and again to say hi.

Play nice while I'm gone, take good care of Lysander for me (can't bring him with me, apparently were-puppies are a nightmare to get through customs).

Later folks and thanks for the well wishes at the time of my untimely (and brief) death :)

    Cheers,

    orestes
