    Afternoon lads

Am a bit worried over something that happened last night at 4am and then again at 5am.

I was soundly asleep after havign a few pints last night, and at 4am i woke up and thought i was dreaming, the calf muscle in my left leg was spasaming ,almost pulsating (i think) I usually get this every few months but no where near the pain that i was in last night. I started screaming and rolling around in the bed in agony. Herself was absolutly ****ting her self as she didnt know what was wrong and i couldnt talk. This went on for a good 4 or 5 mins, usually i can point my toes out and it helps ease it, but did nothing this time. Then again an hour later on the right leg did the same thing but even more painfull. My calfs are still fully tensed/flexed at the moment and still quiet painfull. Ive been to the doctor and a physio about this before and they could find nothing wrong.

Anyone any idea what this is? or how to prevent it?

    Much appreciated :)

    no medical issues allowed.

but drink more water before bed and especially if youve been drinking.

You got a cramp from the sounds of things. More potassium helps.

I get this occasionally but the Bob Marley routine works "Get up -Stand up":) sole of the affected leg flat on the floor, a bit more weight on the affected leg, sore to start with but eases out.

Similarly, my better half thinks I am possessed by demons when the cramping starts.

used to happen to me a good bit but not in while.
but when it happened my god ive never felt such pain.

generally i find it best just to relax and not to fight it.

Try the Biology & Medicine forum also? I think that's as far as we can take it here - if a Dr. & a physio have both give it the ok it does sound like cramping is the mostly likely cause.
