It seems to me that Facebook now has established itself as the number 1 social network though I still prefer Bebo maybe because it is primarily used by people in Ireland and the UK. Which site would you use the most and why? Sorry if I've left one out, I'm not as cool as I used to be.

Which do you prefer? 75 votes

I find the facebook format way too messy, bebo is straightforward. Well, was, until they started ripping off facebook with their bloody apps.

I'm on Facebook now too, to keep in touch with older friends and Americans. But my heart is with Bebo, I've had my page since 2005 so there's a lot of history on there, and most people I'd mix with are on it so its just more useful and interesting for me! Plus Facebook applications are so irritating! I wish Bebo hadn't introduced all that crap! I think MySpace has become more a site for bands than anything else now.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,179 ✭✭✭FunkZ

Are you serious? Everyone I know hates FaceBook, I like it though.

But Bebo is my favourite, and I like the layout of MySpace for music.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 16,713 ✭✭✭✭jor el

I've always thought they were all fairly pointless, mainly because for the most part they are. If you want to keep in touch with friends and family worldwide, it can be handy I suppose, but most people have nothing but stupid comments from idiots on them, and it seems to serve no real purpose.

I have a bebo now, something I thought I'd never do, but some bird hounded convinced me. I wouldn't say I prefer it though.

Depends on how you use it. Bebo is limited at the moment in that its only really used in the UK & Ireland.

I think bebo is the handiest tbh... Myspace for the bands however!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,473 ✭✭✭R0ot

I'm still of the opinion that these things are the biggest collective waste of time and bandwidth that anyone could do (yes I have a bebo page and realise what i'm saying is hypocritical). I enjoyed the days in college when the website was blocked in every way they could, entering a computer lab which is full and has 90% of people viewing social networking sites is incredibly irritating. :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,605 ✭✭✭Fizman

I've had a Bebo account since mid college.
Could not be arsed setting up anything else.

I have bebo, I like bebo. Don't have any other profiles on other websites though.

Bebo from a 'this site represents me on the intarweb' point of view. I have facebook for mates from other places but I prefer Bebo. The stupidest thing Bebo did was too add the ****ty applications that are all over Facebook though. Those things are retarded.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,006 ✭✭✭PurpleBerry

    MySpace all the way.

Bebo is for kids and Facebook is something I don't even bother with.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,919 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

I have all three for various reasons. Where's the 'all of the above' option? Or AJ for that matter.

    The poll fails

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 671 ✭✭✭Daithi McGee

I like to use my phone and email. Social networking as it is now is a load of bollix primarily used by people "new" to the interwebs in the sense that there is more than just booking a flight or holiday. Bebo is just another toy used by kids and some of the above too. FACT.

Myspace is for old doddery folks by that reasoning??

In fairness it is very handy for keeping in contact with friends abroad without having to email them..

'All of the above' kinda makes the 'prefer' in the question redundant.

I have a facebook and a bebo, I find bebo far to childish.

    How is it handy

To email them, log into email send mail to recipient.

To bebo them, log into bebo send message to recipient.

Both involve logging into a system, both involve typing a message, both are in fact very similiar.

    :confused:Fails to see the benefit:confused:

Meh, I think they are all a load of balls and most people use them to inflate their ego by showing how cool stupid they are and by boasting about how many friends they have even though they don't know 90% of the people on their list. But in saying all that I do have a Facebook account, handy for organising and planning nights out.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,148 ✭✭✭✭KnifeWRENCH

I use Bebo regularly - it's by far the easiest to navigate. The other two are messy and clunky.

I use Facebook occassionally - just for the applications!

I rarely ever use MySpace - I only use it for music.

    I have all 3.

Nowadays I use facebook the most.

Bebo I used to use all the time in college but Im not in college full time anymore and I dunno, its just lost its charm.

Myspace, well I rarely use that and if I did use it regularly Id still say its inferior to the others as its too all over the place for my liking.

Bebo's getting more annoying every day with those bloody mobile commenst and emails: "Hi I like your page, come chat on webcam with me on (insert useless spam website name), hope to talk to you soon, XXX"

    GTFO!

I like it on the porch!!!

    Rob_l,
I find it handy because you can see what they're up to on their profile without having to actually ask them, and Its easier to see pictures of their various adventures without them having to send them to you!

i have all three, use bebo the most, but that's still only now and then. facebook for keeping in touch with americans, and i havent really used myspace in ages

None of them, they all suck balls. Though I am partial to checking out music on Myspace.

    They're all sh1te.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,073 ✭✭✭sam34

absolutely hate those sites. was recently persuaded to join facebook as a friend was moving to america. however within a few days i was getting friend requests from people that i hadnt seen since school/college, who i disliked back then, and still dislike now. there's a reason i didnt stay in touch with them, and i now have no desire to renew contact.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,070 ✭✭✭✭pq0n1ct4ve8zf5

Have bebo, it's good for seeing what cousins/old school friends etc are up to seeing as I'm not in the habit of talking to everyone every day. Also I like people to know which celebrity's ass best respresents my personality. Facebook seems way too complicated, I do have one but meh

They are all sh1t. I dont care that your favourite movie is Dirty Dancing and that you like any type of music that you can 'shake your ass to.'

    Bollocks.

    Just Profile Page
    Comments

its the only way to browse bebo

That's easy. You just get the 'enemy' app and list them as hated enemies rather than friends !

I, along with most people over 35+, use Facebook (recent studies suggest that more members of Facebook use their real names in registering an account compared with myspace). I find it great to keep in daily contact with family/friends in Ireland.

Same applies to me and my bebo page:D
