I've had some kind of stomach bug the last few days and I've been eating feck all, nevermind Ive been able to do no exercise. My weight is definately gone/going down and I was wondering is it muscle or fat or both I'm losing? Such a pisser, takes me ages to build up some weight and then its gone in a few days.:(

Don't worry. I would say that you are mainly losing water.

Rest and recover. Any lost muscle will easily be regained once you start eating and training again.

Are you serious ?? Injury and sickness can't be avoided without incredible luck and an inhuman immune system. If Lance Armstrong can come back from testicular, lung and brain cancer, I think you should have a lot of confidence that you can come back and put on a couple of pounds.

    It's only fluid.

Well this is the fitness forum and I think if anyone else saw their progress over the last 3 months evaporate in 3 days they'd be pretty p*ssed off too. Looks like Im down about 3/4 of a stone, and Im definately dehydrated, hope the weight comes straight back on when Im over this dose.

I'm aware this is a fitness forum, but there really is no point getting p'ssed off about it. Chances are you will replace you're fluid easily enough, you're body will have benefited greatly from the rest and you'll come back stronger than before.

I've had several broken bones, dislocations, concussion along with the usual flu's, bugs etc and trust me, it's not worth getting p'ssed off about. A positive attitude works much better.

Don't worry about it, even if after replacing your fluids you're still down it doesn't take as long to get back to the point you were at as it originaly took.....god what a garbled sentence....you'll be grand:pac:

I know its not what you want to hear, but this is coming from experience..

Who cares (you shouldn't), don't sweat it, keep up your fluid intake use the time to get lots of rest and get better.

Feck the gym and gains, ain't nothing you can do about them now anyway.

And honestly, thats my best advice.

    Oh, and what Hanley says.
