I want to use Sketchup (yes the google one) for some basic farting around with an extension we're planning. It seems that version 6 uses .NET and won't work in Wine. Would anyone have the installation file for v.5 or earlier that they could upload somewhere for me?

Failing that has anyone had any joy using v6 in an XP VM?

I use an XP VM for office and (in particular) visio. It should be just fine once you install the vmware tools / drivers on the VM.

pity it won't work in Wine. I have a VM on my desktop for VPN and I just tried Sketchup - works fine. But it's on the lappy I want it - means I have to install XP there too.

Copy the VM to your laptop?

then there's driver issues etc. Be easier to just install it. I have an ISO of WXP which I can just mount for it.
