Anyone know whether I should report the presence of this little guy to any authority? I understand they are a menace.

Finally got to see this in its entirety today :D. There is a sparrow hawk that i see once in a while around my area. Usually its just a quick flash of it in flight or the odd time it may perch closely. Last September whilst cleaning the conservatory there was a huge burst of feathers in front of me as it caught a pigeon, unfortunately it saw me and flew away and the pigeon got to fight another today. I didn't see the sparrow hawk for months until this morning. I came back from my walk and noticed a huge bunch of feathers out the back, i had a feeling of what it was but i couldn't see any movement. I walked slowly towards the conservatory and low and behold there is the sparrow hawk on a fresh kill.:D She stayed for around a half hour so it was pretty amazing, i only wish the camera i had was better as the quality is poor, still though thought id share. I took some video too might upload later.(im thinking its a female???)

I won't. Last year i came across her feeding on a carcass just like this down the woods but scared her off. It was incredible to see her flight path through the trees and branches. I was down again that area a couple hours later and the carcass was gone.

UPDATE :Arrived back this morning Monday and watched her eat the rest, tried to get better pics but she got spooked and flew away with the carcass. Great experience.

Amazing pictures padi89. Don't be silly..these images are totally acceptable and quality in my 'humble' opinion. Your one lucky man - a HALF HOUR looking at a Sparrow Hawk

You should take the netting off those fat balls, there an accident waiting to happen. The birds get their feet trapped in them.
