Not sure if I'm posting this in the right place, basically pulled something at the back of my right hip lifting the other day. I've had it before, it's almost like something slips out of place, but not this bad. Tried chiropractors before and did nothing for me.

Has anyone had a similar problem and could recommend a physio? I work in Dun Laoghaire so pref around that sort of area.

i did read an article a while ago (for the life of me i can't find it now) about a control test on chiropractors. they had three control groups. first one went to the chiros, the second took pres. drugs while the third did nothing. all three groups healed in the same time frame.

    Try Steve Fallon
    http://www.harbourclinic.com/index.htm

He is a Physical Therapist which is totally different to a Physiotherapist. He is very good.

    Maybe consider accupuncture too?
My mum had a sore back recently and tried accupuncture and he fixed her up in a few sessions. He was also based in Dun L - Paul Mc Carthy, I'm sure if you google you'll find him...

I don't know if you are still looking for a physio, but I went to Butterfield physio in Rathfarnham. It's a nice wee small place and they seem to be grand.

I had hurt my rotator cuff in the gym, I think it was through bad form and I stupidly kept pushing it. It wasn't massively bad, but if I moved my arm in a certain way it would get sore, like if I was reaching behind into the back of the car or something for example. This lasted for about 6 months at least and it wasn't going away itself. Anyway I went there and was slightly skeptical but sure enough the exercises they gave me worked. I think I went maybe 3 times in total to see them.

I also didn't mind so much that it was mostly girls who were the physios there :)

Location wise it's ok to get to, but it's a small place right down at a set of traffic lights. There's a pub just across the road from it but I can't remember what it's called. There's no car park either, but it's on Butterfield Avenue I think which has a lot of residential houses and there was no problem getting on street parking anytime I went there.
