    ok girls....
i have been with my boyfriend a year and a half, and i love him, but lately i feel a little bored with him. i find myself wanting to spend more time with my friends!
i get on so well with him most times, but other times he irritates me.
ive been accepted into his family which makes it so muchmore confusing.
has anyone else been through something like this???is it just a phase that will pass??

Nobody can answer that for you. That is just something you need to work out for yourself i'm afraid!

its fairly normal to be irritated by your boyfriend! you cannot spend loads of time with one person and never find they are getting on your nerves (as you may be on theirs!).
Point is you cannot live in anyone elses pockets and expect to be contented all the time- spend time with your friends its normal- dont worry about it! Im sure your irritating him too!;)( I mean that in the nicest way possible!)

    Hey,

God you could be me last year, I was feeling the same way with my then boyf. I don't know about going on hols though, we did that and it ruined the holiday for me to be honest, the atmosphere was horrible because I think we both knew it was over. Then your stuck there and you can't bring it up!

What is it that irriates you about him? Is it something new or something that never bothered you before? Because if its never bothered you until now then it could be that you just need an excuse to get out of the relationship and you could find yourself nitpicking things that annoy you. If its a new thing then maybe sitting down and talking about it would help?

I'm sorry I don't have the best advice for you, but I really don't think a hol is that way to go.
I hope it works out ok though x

we had a chat about it last night. i feel alot better about it now.
has anyone ever heard of the year and a half freak out???
i know alot of people that have broken up at this stage in a relationship, and its always the girl thinking "omg, im only young, i have so much left in life that i want to do!" and "this cant be it for me".
there are so many girls who feel this way!
i think its working through this phase thats important.i think!!!

Sounds like you're settling in and the excitement has worn off? Like one poster suggested, try something different and a bit daring, and maybe that will rekindle the spark?

It's the honeymoon period to long term transition. Usual time for people to split. Little irritations creep in. Sometimes they're obvious reasons, sometimes there are no obvious reasons and the person's still the same, just "the spark" leaves. It can go either way. If the reasons have not been worked on or changed by either person, then splitsville beckons.

I've noticed the things that worry you or are noted at the start of a relationship, are usually the things that will split you up, if not dealt with. We all tend to ignore parts of lovers when the first flush of love is in full swing. When that eases up, then they come into focus. I know I've done that.

It can also simply be that two people aren't compatible or at least aren't compatible beyond the exiting lovers part. Again I've been there. Had girlfriends that were great as lovers and were great to be in love with, but really long term companions? It wouldn't have worked out. Doesn't mean I didn't love the time together though.

I dunno about the holiday being much of a test though. If you can't spend two weeks with someone in an exiting environment, then I wouldn't hold out much hope of being able to spend years together during mundane times.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.
