These Germans have a serious amount of stuff and good prices too. €30 delivery to Ireland. http://www2.hardwareversand.de/2VeFxemr1Rc8Wf/home.jsp?lid=2

I presume you have a decent graphics card to output I high res/ double monitors??

    I'd recommend komplett for monitors.
    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=347592
You could get two of them??
When looking for a monitor look for DVI input, but this only applies if your graphics card has a DVI output.

Ive a 19" DVI in work and a 22" VGA at home. The DVI is way better in comparision, there's no glare etc from sunlight or whatever.

The dell 2407 seems to be the weapon of choice but also some have the E248WFP which dell have on special as well.

this thread on poker monitors done a while ago seems to cover most although prices seem to ahve come down since then

If you're looking for something cheaper, I'm pretty happy with my Acer X223w. Two of those side by side would be great.

    Missing roll-eyes smiley?

Pretty much any GFX card these days supports 2 monitors. The real question is, what will you be using your PC for? If you're going to be gaming, then at a minimum you should be looking at something with specs along the lines of this.

If it's just for poker and general PC tasks, then anything in the range of €50-€100 here should be fine. Just check that it has dual outputs.

There's one important thing I forgot here: Make sure and check the max resolution supported by the card. That may be crucial for multi-tabling without overlap.

Seconded. You can save 15-20%, depending on what you're buying. Also, Kompletts minimum delivery charge appears to have gone up to €25, so you're not losing much with hardwareversand at €30 delivery.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,275 ✭✭✭digiman

I bought this one a while back and can't recommend it enough. Its got 1920x1200 which is as good as you can get for reasonable money for playing poker. It has a swivel bottom, can be move up/down and can even be rotated 90deg if you needed such a feature.

But the clairty of the screen is amazing for watching videos also, I've downloaded a few films in full HD and the picture quality is just amazing and it looks excellent from different viewing angles as well. Go for it, worth every penny. If you are going for one though spend the extra few bob and get one that is 1920x1200.

Just remember guys you can't pay by VISA to these lads last time I checked, which was a couple of months ago. You have to make a trip to your local bank.

    Great prices though.

Okay... maybe it was just the size/weight of the order I put in (yesterday) that pushed the delivery charge up. But then again, a printer isn't really a small order either. Strange one.

Did u try dell after i told ya the deal?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,472 ✭✭✭AdMMM

As people have said, you'll need to make certain that your graphics card a) supports two monitors and b) supports the monitors native resolution. If your PC is in anyway new, the graphics card shouldn't be a problem, but if you post up the specs of it, it would assist us in helping you choose a monitor.

    Time for a quick hijack..

I have an nvidia 6510 GE graphics card in my PC, with only one input...Can this card handle two monitors?

input or output? If you have one output then yeah only one monitor. i think. 2 outputs means 2 monitors.

EDIT: After some googling it seems that the 6510 is an intergrated GGPU/MOBO with only 1 output. I presume you have a laptop? You will not be able to use 2 monmitors with this card.

I'd be very wary about ordering from that lot. A lot of people on here have had big problems with them. Do a search for them on the Laptop and Consumer Issues forum before making any decision.

I got a laptop from laptops direct and it was broken out of the box, wouldnt even start up.
Took 3 weeks to get it picked up and new one delivered, i was not impressed, id never buy a computer outside of Ireland again, bag of hassle if something goes wrong.

Have a Dell Latitude D430, very small screen (about 12 inches maybe diagonally)

It'd very small for multi-tabling - four small iPoker barely fit on the screen.

What would anyone recommend to buy a new monitor to connect to this laptop for better viewing ? Can you even do this ?

Very computer illiterate so help me out on this one . . . thanks

To be honest, I thjink you have the market cornered. Include that chapter on folding KK preflop and its guaranteed a pulitzer imo.

300 is too much. Dabs.ie/komplett and laptopsdirect.ie all sell models. 19" should be more than enough. Dabs do a 24" for €200, tbh I would prob look at upgrading to a PC at the same time tho. Yea it plugs into your VGA port/ the 15 point socket on the back of the laptop
