The french magazine says it's an excellent album, the best from Oasis.

After an absence of three years, the band from Manchester presents its seventh album. The English press has not lied by presenting the latest Oasis as an excellent album.

Dig Out Your Soul is a treasure trove of music and is undoubtedly the best studio album of the duo. Liam Gallagher said would compose songs out of the usual construction and moving towards a new sound. It's done!

The progression of pieces is very consistent. From the raw energy of the first titles to the more sophisticated pieces of the end, the auditor discovers new sounds by Oasis stages as if the group wanted to guide him throughout the hearing. The Gallagher brothers put aside their sound British pop music to focus on a sound much more rock, sometimes folk. And it's very heavy, especially the track (Get Off Your) High Horse Lady.

Never in excess, the rockers introduce arrangements of all kinds with the precision of a goldsmith. In addition, the battery holds a prominent place in pieces and provides real effectiveness in securities.

The fans like refractory find themselves on an album of great quality.

I have faith in the lads to produce a good album..... looking forward to it.

I'm really looking forward to this but I certainly won't believe the press until I hear it. The last album was hyped up beyond belief. I am looking forward to hearing some more of Liam's songwriting though, ever since Stop Crying Your Heart Out I've been impressed by virtually evertything he's written (bar Songbird)

He didn't write SCYHO that's a Noel tune.

Lovely stuff. Really, really hope they don't let me down. Be nice to see old school stadium anthems from the lads.

Find it very hard to work up any enthusiasm for them anymore. Even their personas have become boring.

    Info
'The Shock Of The Lightning’ The new Oasis single out September 29th

‘Dig Out Your Soul’ new album out October 6th

Oasis are set to return later this year with a new single and their seventh studio album. The single,‘The Shock Of The Lightning’ is released on September 29th and the album, ‘Dig Out Your Soul’ follows in October; it is the first new Oasis music since last year’s ‘Lord Don’t Slow Me Down’, taken from the on the road film of the same name. ‘Dig Out Your Soul’ sees Dave Sardy return to the producer’s chair following his work on their 2005 album, ‘Don’t Believe The Truth’. Recorded at Abbey Road and mixed in Los Angeles, all four members once again contribute tracks, but the recording marks a new approach for the band as described by the band’s principle songwriter, Noel:

“I wanted to write music that had a groove; not songs that followed that traditional pattern of verse, chorus and middle eight. I wanted a sound that was more hypnotic; more driving. Songs that would draw you in, in a different way. Songs that you would maybe have to connect to - to feel.”

The lead single is still unmistakably Oasis, a Noel penned song with Liam’s immediately familiar voice to the fore underlining their distinctive brand of finger in the socket rock ’n’ roll.

‘The Shock Of The Lightning’ may well represent the most recognisable Oasis song on the album but, again, the new approach on ‘Dig Out Your Soul’ was present on this lead track as Noel explains:

“If ‘The Shock Of The Lightning’ sounds instant and compelling to you, it’s because it was written dead fast. And recorded dead fast. ‘The Shock of The Lightning’ basically is the demo. And it has retained its energy. And there’s a lot to be said for that, I think. The first time you record something is always the best.”

‘Dig Out Your Soul’ will be the first album released on the band’s own Big Brother label worldwide.

Keep checking back to Oasisinet for more news..

What kind of sound do you reckon it'll be?

I'm sure you've all noticed the new style in the last two-ish albums songs like..... Mucky Fingers The importance of Being Idle Lord Don't Slow Me Down etc..

These are all a clearly different style to your Champagne Supernovas Wonderwalls Hey Now Live Forever Morning Glory bla bla etc etc or the first 3 albums in other words, What I'm asking is this new album gonna be more Lord don't Slow me Down style than Hello/Columbia/Cast No Shadow or something

Know what I mean I love the older sound it was more melodic or something the other one is more banging shouting anyone know what I mean

    ta

I LOVED 79.8% OF BE HERE NOW!!!:)

Naw,sorry, but i prefer Noel. He's a genius in ways, and considering he pretty much *is* oasis, it's quite impressive!.

Hope the new albums great, still hoping for another "dont look back in anger" track but....

    .....well,i can dream :D

    NME
Oasis have revealed the full tracklisting and artwork for their new album 'Dig Out Your Soul', the follow-up to 2005's 'Don't Believe The Truth'.

The album, set to be released through the band's own Big Brother Recordings on October 6, is set to feature tracks including 'The Turning', 'Waiting For The Rapture' and 'I'm Outta Time'.

As well as the group's new single 'The Shock Of The Lightning', out on September 29, 'Dig Out Your Soul' will feature 'Bag It Up', once mooted as the title track, and 'Ain't Got Nothin'', which leaked in demo form earlier this year.

The album, produced by Dave Sardy, was recorded at London's Abbey Road and mixed in Los Angeles and features songs from both Gallagher brothers, Gem and Andy Bell.

'Dig Out Your Soul''s tracklisting is:

+1. just don't think they're relevant any more. last couple of albumns were just more of the same, as for "The Importance of Being Idle" that is the worst song i've heard from a "real" band in years.

Agreed, Importance of Being Idle is pure pants.

They're one of my favourite bands but I'd be stunned if they produce a great album. You're guaranteed two or three tunes on each new album though.

Really looking forward this to come out. Been three years since any new materiel so they must have a few decent tracks.
I'm sure they'll tour with it then. Would love them to do Croke Park.

No way mate, i really dont know why this has become the fashionable attitude to have towards Oasis. Be Here Now is a great album, and they've had a few crackers since then. IMO the only really weak album was Heathen Chemistry. The last album was great,

If you look at the sheer volume of quality Oasis have brought out, it says alot about the **** that's around today. Gimme Oasis over any of these new Razorlight efforts anyday. Really hope this new album will be up to scratch (i'm sure it will),

wow, i got a bit carried away there...:)

Maybe its just me or did i hear somewhere that Robbie Williams drummer is now drumming for Oasis? If this is true.... did he record the new album with them??

He was the drummer for Robbie williams but he was also the drummer for The La's who are one of my favourite bands so I'm ok with it. I think he was poached after the recording sessions so he didn't drum on the album. Time will tell.

also for someone to say everything since wtsmg has been poor is imo bollocks..

the master plan 14 unreal songs. plenty from the first two albums but some from after. also many other b-sides since wtsmg, lets all make believe, one way road, wont let you down, youve got the heart of a star, thank you for the good times, just getting older, idlers dream etc etc

Be here now is a masterpiece of sound, every time liam stops singing noel rips into solos, also imo liams voice peaked around this time. This album is rock and roll at its largest. I love 100% of it.

Sotsogs is also a very good ablbum, gas panic, ****ing in the bushes, sunday morning call, where did it all go wrong, go let it out all deadly songs, this is an albumn that can be listened to any time.

Heathen chemistry got weaker but there are still deadly choons on it tracks 1- 6 are very strong and while it fades a bit after tha Born on a different cloud, my fav on it, keeps the albumn strong.

DBTT is imo their weakest effort but when it came out i loved it. I think it doesnt have the durability of the other albums and rarely would listen to it now. Standouts are mucky fingers, tiobi, ggtia, llab, some weak tracks like a bell will ring and let there be love. The fact Dave Sardy did this and the new album is a little worryring and i pray the new album isnt the same as this cause noel said they had hundreds of songs left over from dbtt.

Still tho cannae wait for dig out your soul was kinda hopin record machine would be on it. Think nothin on me grows on you and the riff is awesome. Only others ive heard bits of are the youtube links i posted earlier they all to me seem to have loadsa potential to be top songs..

Roll on october ... please dont let me down

    no he didnt..

did write born on a diff cloud, guess god thinks im able, love like a bomb, wont let you down, songbird all very good imo..
he is maturing as a songwriter but noel did say that soldier on, the closing track, is typical liam verse chorus repeat x3,4,5 etc.
also i think im outta time could be a very good song.

spot on Liam. I just cant understand the stick they get for everything after Morning Glory. Seems like it became cool to all of a sudden hate Oasis, and only rate the early stuff. They've produced great stuff since then. Way better than most of the ****e that's around at the moment,

I've got a good feeling about this so far. Any new stuff i've heard def sounds promising. Although i like to see the other lads in the band have a hand in the song writing, i hope Noel doesnt step back to much, he is, and always has been the driving force behind the band,

Mini preview from NME Noel interview.
    1. Bag It Up (Noel-written) Mid-paced stomp featuring the repeated line "Everything I believe in/Is telling me that I want more"
    2. The Turning (Noel written) Floats along on a drum beat similar to The Zombies 'Time Of The Season'
    3. Waiting for the Rapture (Noel-sung) Almost White-Stripes heavy. Lyric ("Revolution in the head")
    4. Shock of the Lightning - like a masively improved version of It's Getting Better Man. Chorus (Love is a litany/a magical mystery)
    5. I'm Outta Time - Beautiful, beautiful Liam balled (complete with Lennon sample), that pips Songbird has his finest singwriting hour
    6. Get Of Your High Horse Lady (Noel-written) - Brief Wild Honey Pie-esque Noel curio
    7. Falling Down - Lyrics: (I tried to talk to God/But to no avail)
    8. To Be Where Ther's Life (Gem-written) Where the new found love of 'The Groove' is most apparent
    9. Ain't Got Nothing - Indeed the track we all heard a few months back. Says it features a. all-new chorus, but the lyrics it prints are ones in the early version
    10. The Nature Of Reality (Andy-written) Strung out psychedelia
    11. Soldier On - (Liam-written) Final marching band mantra

Talk about a piss poor rehash or previous songs.

Noel made a right tit of himself on BBC Radio 1 yesterday morning by turning up hammered and talking complete and utter ignorant ****e. Thats the way these guys are going. They used to be the great English hope, yet their current tour gets announced without even so much as a interesting comment by the important media. Playing Aberdeen - I think that sums up where these boys are about now.

    embarrassing.

They have always played Aberdeen, they played ther during the Be Here Now tour as the biggest band in the world. They play small shows every tour. A treat for lucky fans to see them in a small venue.

Which 60's iconic band are they going to rip off this time?

It's a pity the Beatles released the White Album, if they'd carried on with their earlier do-whop sound, the Gallaghers would have had a much larger selection of material to be "inspired" by.

Very bold statement from the magazine to say it's their best, I'd expect a tour-de-force of an album if that's the case.

i agree, just because they say they are influenced by the beatles does not mean they sound like them, and to my ears they dont sound like em
