Hello Ladies! how are you all? I'm relative new in the here and I need advice. Somebody can recommend me a good gynecologist in Dublin? I really don't want to chose one for the phone directory or for internet. I"ll appreciate any orientation that you can give me,thanks:o

Best thing to do is register yourself with a gp first and then get them maybe to refere you to one.

If it's for smear tests, contraception and/or STI testing the Well Woman clinics are good.

Have you moved here from abroad Butterfly01? I'm only asking that, because the trend in Ireland is for women to go to their GP/well woman clinic for smear tests and contraception. If something comes up that needs further looking into then a GP will refer on to a gynaecologist. A gynaecologist usually won't see someone without a referral.

Can anyone recommend a good gynecologist? I'm in Dublin btw. I was given an appointment at a certain hospital which shall remain nameless. The doctor said there was nothing wrong with me but I'd like a second opinion and want to go private.

I probably sound like a raging hypochondriac but I've collapsed and been brought to hospital three times in two years, There's not nothing wrong!

Hiya, I think you'll need a GP referral letter anyway to get to see someone.

I know several people who have been to Hugh O'Connor in the C**mbe and also I think he has private rooms at St James - he is also an obstetrician.

I also know a few people who go to Peter Boylan in HSt and Blackrock Clinic - his private rooms are in the Blackrock Clinic.

    Hopefully everything is ok.......

    best of luck

    Hello

My wife gets extreemly bad period pains every month.
most months she has to call in sick to work they are so bad.
    She is completly Incapacitated.

She had been to Well Woman and went for ultrasound and full blood works / Blood tests and all fine.

She has now been refered to a Gyno, what could this be.

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards
    M15

M15 the problem with asking a question like that is that you'll get all sorts of answers. Hell if I put how I feel into an online medical thing I'm told I have to lay down and get my affairs in order in the next half hour.:)

IMHO you should continue with the current route, but get a second even third opinion until you get help. I feel for you and your wife though.

Plus Mod hat on we dont allow medical advice on the forums mainly cos of the above reasons.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.
