So I read recently that if your bodybuilding they recommend drinking alot more water than normal. Like 4-8 liters a day. I was just wondering why this is so much over the recommended 2 liters? I understand that on days were your lifting you should drink more because you'll be sweating alot more and all but what about off days? And does this apply to your amateur lifter who's just trying to put on some size but not get any major huge muscles?

    Thanks for your time.

No need to overthink this. Drink water so that you don't get thirsty. Its what the rest of the animal kingdom do. Concentrate on lifting heavy weights and eating food.
