Java Firsttimer

Hi, I've just started learing to programme in Java. Problem is though I've got the Java Developement Kit/Runtime Enviroment off of the sun website every time I try to compile a file it just says javac is not recognised as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. Anyone know how I can fix this?…

That should be what you're looking for. Basically you need to set the path up as an Enviroment Variable in Windows.

why not use an IDE like BlueJ for learning and Eclipse or Netbeans for the more experienced...
