Lee Moran was the 1st man to Squat 1000lbs. On his 1st attempt the bar flipped over his head and knocked him out. On the 2nd attempt 1 collar came off and the bar flipped over again. This was his 3rd attempt: 1003lbs.

    No Ed Coan squats?

Or Belyaev or Siders purely for the speed with such weight?

Or Tom Platzs' 20 something reps?

I remember seeing and old video of a guy squatting ( I think it was Ricky Dale Crain, not sure though) and the spotters were ten feet away! I think they were just there to pick the bar off his corpse if anything bad happened.

They called it ass to the grass low, if you sign up to stronglifts you get alright spam every few days. A recent one was talking of deep squats.

There's a vid of Don Reinhoudt floating about squatting 900+ outta those oly racks (like they have in Hercs) with the spotters barely in frame. It's sick.

    Now, to watch these vids.

    WHAT....THE....FCUK.

Bud Jeffries is one the list? Bud fcuking Jeffries????

Chakarov's squat was awesome, but there's guy of a similar weight doing the same and more.

EDIT: I spoke too soon, Guadamud's 310x2 is on it.

I don't understand how Marunde's made it onto the list ahead of Platz. I personally know several guys who have done 180kg (400lb) x20. It's a ridiculously HUGE accomplishment, but still within grasp for alot of guys.

Hoop's squat was sick. But if you're gonna include him you should also think about Olech.

I cannot believe that there's no mention of the greatest squatter EVER - Ed Coan. That is the biggest problem I have with the list.

No Belyaev either but that's not surprising since the list is so heavily US focused.
