Here is how it works - Simply pick a poker player who you believe will last the longest in the main event. Put your money where your mouth is ($20), and the winner takes the lot. Last years winner picked Huck Seed, who went out in 78th place.

Once a player is picked, nobody else can pick them.

Players must be chosen by 8pm on Thursday 3rd July (start of Main Event)

Here is last years thread, which turned out to be very popular, and was good fun to keep track of.

I'll start the ball rolling and take Mike Mizrachi.

Payment Details: Please send money ($20 per entrant) to TmB1974 on PokerStars, or TmB1974 on Full Tilt. Winner takes all.

Payment by 12pm GMT Friday 4th July, or you're not in!

Final Stipulation: The Final Table is in November, so in the interest of fairness (and quick payout!), if 2 or more of the chosen players make it to the Final Table, the player with the highest chipcount at close of play on July 14th (final day of normal play) will take it down.

I'll post the updated list once every 50 or so posts on this thread, so jump to the end and work back for the most up to date version.

ME is Main Event in the World Series of Poker (WSOP)

Mr Helmuth has a "tradition" of not attending for the first level so he can make a "grand entrance" (like he did last year with 10 female racing drivers, unfortunately he also crashed the racing car). He has exited the main event in level 2 of the tournament twice in a row now as I recall and Padraig made this quip as he say Helmuth leaving the ME...
