need some help - going on holidays in about a month, finding it so hard to get a nice bikini set. have tried all the spots i.e dunnes, pennys. but my problem is im a 34DD on top and size 8, so most of the bikinis in the shops come in sets, and the ones that are sold seperate are usually odd ones. any good sites online i might purchase some nice ones or even any shops -im on bit of a budget too!
    thanx :)

Marks and Spencers sell the tops and bottoms separately in many sizes. Most of them are nice.

    MARRY ME!

Think that's pretty much the reaction she was looking for

Anyway yes M&S do seperate tops and bottoms. Top Shop did last year, not sure if they still do or not.

There is some place around the Conrad Hotel that specialises in that sort of thing. I'd imagine its expensive but probably worth it.
I got a really nice one in M&S last year - different size on top than bottom and it managed to make me look alright. Halter neck was what helped me but my boobs aren't as big as yours. Also House of Fraser out in Dundrum have a whole section for all that type stuff.

I am the same size as you and I never had any problems getting them in Dunnes (in fact I spent a fortune on two in BT's and they were not as nice or as comfortable).

I find in Penneys you can put a size 12 top with a size 8 bottoms and they rarely notice if they do pretend you didn't notice and just try another till works for me about 90% of the time

    Figleaves.co.uk - great selection.

With a larger bust you should try to get a top that is specifically your size (i.e. a 34 DD) rather than just a 12/14 or whatever.

Don't do that, you'll f*ck up their stock, they'll lose money, then the kiddies in India get paid even less.

SNAP! I got a couple in Penneys before they put a stop to mix n matching. But the bikinis are so cheap there you can just buy two, one in each size. If you have large assed, flat chested friend, you can give her the other half ;)

Who the hell cares about penneys losing money, they should sell bikinis separately

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,878 ✭✭✭Rozabeez

Just Penneys, or all shops? Switching sizes to suit yourself in shops is as bad as switching price-tags and demanding the cheaper one, its not fair on other customers that are left with your odds, or the staff that are gonna get in trouble over it, then the stocktake rolls round and there's murder.

All for your damn bikini, just shop somewhere else if you're not happy with what a shop has.

Try the Gorgeous range in Debenhams ~ I'm 34H and can get a top with separate bottoms in there...

Tesco actually had some nice ones in D/DD sizes. I'm also a 34DD and their 12 D/DD fitted perfectly. The bottoms were sold separately which was ideal. Not sure if they still have them as they were pretty low in stock when I went looking. Tesco have only recently started doing clothes where I am, but I have to say, they do nice underwear & it goes up the bigger sizes without having to pay the bigger prices charged by some outlets, so I'm happy out now.

Next do separates and they're usually quite nice. The shop near the Conrad is on Earlsfort Terrace and called Bramora afaik...

Hiya, i have the same prob myself, im a size 8on th bottom and a size..32..well lets just say im further in the alphabet than you in that one:) but i always buy mine out in the country im heading too..they stock every colour shape and size, was in turkey last week and managed to buy two that were perfect(and only 20euro each) complete with underwire and slight padding..look great..i can never get ones to fit here even in posh shops so i would suggest looking round a beach wear shop as soon as soon as you get there..you will be pleasantly surprised!

+1's for La Senza and Monsoon. And Dorothy perkins can be good as well.

    + 1 for asos.com

I have the same problem as yourself when bikini shopping (an E cup top and size ten on bottom) and have recently discovered this site. Like a few people have mentioned they have the Kelly Brook range (the halter neck is fantastic as there's no fear of exposing yourself) and you can buy the pieces separately.
