The beers will only be just starting to warm up. Get yourself along there, you won't miss the group.

I dont know anyone and dont want to seem desperate at the same time? Will everyone know eachother, will I be drinking on my own too shy to talk?

A lot of people go to their first boards beers without knowing anyone. It's up to you whether you want to get over the shyness or not. Everyone there will be open to talking to new people.

Get out there and take a chance.

    Threads merged.

If anyone wants to add anything about getting over shyness and heading to a boards beers for the first time, then please feel free to post.

    Hi OP

Head down now if you haven't headed down already. There will be plenty of people in your situation. Don't worry. Have fun. It will be good to know there will be many others in your situation so don't fret.

There's another beers coming up next Saturday in the Mercantile. There should be a lot more people at this one, and if you get posting in the thread linked above, then you should have some contacts to hang around with at the start.

Good luck with it, don't let shyness imprison you, otherwise you'll be sitting on that sofa for a long time.

Yep it was a good crowd last night and as others have said just show up. Next week is another chance. We're all wierdos around here anyway so you'll fit right in.:)

I'll be locking this now as there'll be enough threads on the site about the upcoming one.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.
