    It's my 18th in 12 days, I've lost my passport, and don't have a provisional/driving licence.

    Am I screwed?

If you want to leave the country, yeah you're pretty screwed.

    Screwed in what way?

Screwed in that you won't get into a nightclub? Yes.. but nightclubs are **** anyway, have a house party, better music, cheaper drink, and no closing time...

noo, I'm not leaving the country anytime soon, I mean because it being my 18th I want to go out, nightclubs etc. If I put my birth certificate alongside my connexions card, do you think that would work?

Apply for passport now, say you need it for a journey in two weeks.

It is recommended, if you live in Ireland, to use the Passport Express service which is available at most post offices. This provides a 10 working day return service. If you are not in a hurry for your passport you can apply by regular post but you should allow 4-6 weeks for return of your passport by this method. If you need a passport in less than 10 days you will need to apply in person to the Dublin or Cork Passport office with a completed application and proof of travel, eg internet booking or travel tickets. If you have lost your passport or are a first time applicant you must allow 10 working days for the issue of your passport as all such applications must be thoroughly checked before being approved. If you live abroad apply to your nearest Irish Mission. In general allow 4 weeks for the issue of your passport in such cases.

Does anyone know if they accept expired passports, the photo of me being about 8 years old.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 81,220 ✭✭✭✭biko

Go in a day or two before and show expired passport and ask, will it be ok to use that on the night?

Unless it's somewhere that regularly admits 9 yr olds, I'd have to say, no...

They probably would yea. I don't think they're really supposed to, but I've had friends use them no bother at all.

Book a really cheap flight to anywhere in a day or two. Go into the passport office and show them the flight details. Say you need a new passport. As long as you have proof of travel they have to print you one that day.

I had a dream that I went to a nightclub and the bouncers took ages letting me in cause I had no passport. When I got in it wasn't even a nightclub, it was the ****ing ALSAA gym, weird.

I know. But book a cheap flight to anywhere, print off the details. Bring them in to the passport office. Show them the details. If the flight is in the next few days they have to print you off a passport. When you leave rip up the details, use them as toilet paper, go on the flight it doesn't matter cause by that time you'll have your passport (which you can then use to get into the nightclub) and the flight will only have cost you 20-30euro.

We've all given you advice based on that you were in Ireland.
In England, google how to obtain a passport or an age card.

You can also go down to the club and ask will they let you in with an expired passport.

    Kthxbye
