    Golden Brown-Stranglers

    Walk on by-Stranglers

    Nice and sleazy-Stranglers

Haha, just kidding, I don't have a preferred genre. I hate rap/r and b/sh*te, though.

I like prodigy and assorted other bangin choons mainly on the weekend...when I'm in a sufficient state of mind!! ;)

During the night time i will normally listen to quieter stuff because my flatmate would be asleep. John Butler Trio, Jeff Buckley and Fat Freddy's Drop all made the list last night, as a sample. I'll actually keep track in future and let you know what i end up listening to!

I love listening to quieter, more relaxing music at night. Here are some of my fav. night time tunes:

    Garbage - Milk
    Garbage - Drive You Home
    Massive Attack - Teardrop
    Massive Attack - Unfinished Sympathy
    Siobhan Donaghy - Ghosts
    Smashing Pumpkins - Crestfallen
    Smashing Pumpkins - Tonight Tonight
Velvet Underground - Pale Blue Eyes
    Radiohead - All I Need
Radiohead - How To Disappear Completely
    The Sugarcubes - Birthday
Bjork - All Is Full Of Love
    Bjork - Joga
    Bjork - Cocoon
Bat For Lashes - Horse And I
White Stripes - As Ugly As I Seem
White Stripes - In The Cold Cold Night

These are just off the top off my head! I'm sure there's loads more...

Currently listening to Depeche Mode. And doing a good job it is :).

Also The Holy bible by the Manic Street Preachers sounds better at night. Don't ask me why.

Oh, the double! That's even worse! Funk! Funk? Jazz's deformed cousin?!

hehe... but hmmm, night time music, i always prefer something i know off by heart already, and can (usually drunkenly) sing along to... Incubus, The Tea Party, Jeff Martin, The Doors, Elbow, Ride.... Nothing too heavy, just something i can chill and bob to.

i find double albums are good at night (or quad if youre a thrice fan)

    examples for me being:

Smashing Pumpkins: Mellen Collie and the Infinite Sadness
    and conversly
Say Anything: In Defense of the Genre

night time means theres more time to listen to it, thus i ll liten to the whole thing

Listening to Release by Pearl Jam... Now that is a Nocturnal song.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,910 ✭✭✭thusspakeblixa

    On the ''double albums'' topic-
    Tonight on the Blixa-stereo (blixeo)
    is New Orders' ''Substance 1987''
It's very very good. It has Blue Monday and True Faith but ''Ceremony'' is a very nocturnal song to me
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-url7FON-Fk
and yes I know the Joy Division version is better....

I used to put the solaris soundtrack on shiffle/repeat to drown out the external noises that kept me awake

Or try this, do a search for "night" in yer media player et voila, nocturnal sountrack.

Not really a nocturnal track as such, but one of the few music videos I have any time for (I think videos generally take away from music).

Out of that list, this is one of my favourites. :)

Sage Francis - Black Out On White Night

No video unfortunately, only the song. :)

    Avril Lavinge: Damn Cold Night.

Makes me reminisce all the time. France 2003 with my parents and sister will always live in the memory.

Driving through the motorway with the sun blazing, cutting off into smaller villages....finding a state of the art tennis court and playing on it before being chased off by two old men.

The best damn pizza in Boulonge(or however you spell it)...getting a brilliant pizza near rennes....

Sorry lads....It just has good memories.
