Morning sweet angelic and nubile ladies of the lounge. Pigheads got a massive problem that needs fixing this morning.

In the middle of knitting a casual wear brown and yellow cardigan which is looking great so far apart from one thing. The bottom of it is curling up and Pighead just knows that it would annoy the bejaysus out of him if it did that whilst he was wearing it.

Any thoughts on how Pighead could sort this out - or why its happening? Was wondering if blocking might help. Would be shitty finishing the whole thing and then not wearing it cos it had a weird curly edge.

See the problem there is you're using your drinking arm for things it's not meant to do, so the latent beer-lifting action that's built into your arm's DNA is taking itself out on the wool, hence that curling lifting result.

Back to the fat boy club with you chubby fingers. This thread is for the knitting lovers amongst us. If you apologise for your remarks Pighead may knit you an ankle sock to keep your todger warm next winter.

Pighead, i honestly fail to see why you post these miserabe attention seeking threads when you know they will most likely be locked.

There is actually a very interesting study on the psychology of those who carry out the same task and somehow expect a different result.

    You should read it.;)

Pighead try and stretch out <______> The bottom where it is curling.

I am afraid it is going to curl up til you get to wash it. make sure you dry it flat,

I find that if you put a bit of comfort in with the washing powder it will soften the wool

    Your problem is cheap wool...

Unravel the whole thing and start again, this time, knit looser.

    Lazy option: Iron it.

    Yours helpfully.. etc...

Your damn right Quality, the wool Pighead bought cost next to nothing. Bad Quality. IPighead doesn't iron so thats that idea out the window. Might try the comfort thing though. Thank you kindly for your helpful words.

Start again? But its taking Pighead since Christmas to get this far. Is there no way of crocheting it, maybe add a round or two around teh edges. Is crocheting hard to do? Anyway thanks for the replies ladies, very helpful. Unlike that Dragan brute. Could somebody ban that fcuker?

    Crocheting is simple....

I would recommend it, Faster and easier than knitting... IMO

    As always Beruthiel is correct

Crocheting ain't rocket science but I fail to see why you would think it could help things.

Your problem is with the rib Pighead - I'm thinking you didn't knit one.

Rip it back and knit at least 6 lines of k4/p4 at the bottom ;)

You can't go around with your bottom curling up :D

Back off Thaedydldydl, you know as well as Pighead that there is never anybody in the arts and crafts forum.

If Pighead were to pose his question in there it would take 2 years for him to get a reply, by which time the cardigan would be out of fashion. "Oh that cardigan is sooooo 2008 Pighead" they'd say.

b3t4, Pighead was thinking that crocheting the bottom would give a nice firm edge and it'd be easier than picking up a large number of stitches to knit. Just a thought.

Then you'd have a frilly bottom

Not if Pighead finishes it off with a couple of rows of garter stitching, that should give it a nice firm edge and negate all frilliness. You see thats your problem Dizzyblonde, you're not thinking outside of the box.

It's called hard work Pighead, i tend to take any mention of steroids as a compliment, so cheers for that. ;)

No problem buddy. If you like Pighead will knit you a lovely training vest with the words "GET BACK ON FUCKING TOPIC MUSCLEHEAD" embroidered on the back.

Pighead my inner eye is exhausted trying to imagine this cardie - brown and yellow, with crochet and garter stitch on the bottom!
That's a lot going on around the bottom

Of course I could be wrong, as the pics ;) will prove when it's finished.

Pighead may have to knit you a wee book entitled: "English Language-For Beginners" What on earth does that 2nd line mean.

Anyway back on topic, Dizzyblonde the cardigan is much much nicer than it sounds. Its just hard to convey the niceness via words. Its like if Pighead tried explaining what his todger looked like to a chick who'd never seen a todger before she'd probably go "Eughhhhh, that sounds yucky" but if she actually seen it she'd most probably fall in love with it. Heres what its going to look like hopefully. Imagine brown and yellow instead of orange and green though)

It really is a nice cardigan Pighead :) I'm a knitter myself but have gotten lazy.
At the moment I'm exploring the American hobby of knitting dishcloths, lol.
There are hundreds of free patterns on the web and they're quick and easy.

Tie rocks on strings to the ends of the jumper Pighead. But remember to tie one dead-centre and low enough on the front so when you are walking along it smacks you repeatedly in the balls :)

and there is a stitch and bitch with ladies I am sure that would help you that runs in the starbucks in boarders in the Blanchardstown centre, the notice board there will have more details.

Pighead, Chewchew thinks this idea of knitting your own cardigan is very sensible and is extremely jealous of your progress. She also feels the matter of ''curling'' should not be an issue with pighead, and should be treated and embraced as a new fashion trend within the world of crafts.

Can ChewChew recommend that Pighead (as someone else pointed out) goes on and purchases some exceptional quality wool, And when doing so, maybe Pighead would consider knitting a dainty little scarf for chewChew.

    ChewChew thanks Pighead.

I'm going to edit the forum's charter to make it a crime against humanity to respond to Pighead by referring to yourself in the third person.

The bastard spreads third-person-ism like the plague.

Oh - and if your knitting is too tight, Pighead, try bigger needles. I apparently can't manage to loosen my grip when I knit (Freudian analysis later thanks) so bigger needles are my only solution.
