Ok, I started weight training at home about 4 months ago. I wouldn't say I'm happy with my progress, but I've managed to put on 2 stone and am now up to what should be normal weight (14.5 stone, 6'2"). Problem is this: I've found since I started exercising I sweat a lot. Yes, Durrr, you're exercising = sweat. What I mean is I'm sweating more on an everyday basis for no apparant reason. Also, bending over at the waist causes me to break into rivers (literally) of sweat instantaneously. I something entirely weird here or is increased sweating normal?

You've gained alot of weight in a short space of time. I'd imagine that's the cause.

4 months is around 17 weeks, in which you put on 28lb. That is quite a lot so I expect a fair bit is fat. Do you think you have put on a bit of a gut?

When I started out I was overweight and sweated like mad doing weights, though I started in the summertime too. I have started sweating again like mad due to the change in weather.

In hot weather I used to sweat just bending over like that, but I no longer do since I lost fat.

Actually I'm pretty sure I've lost fat off my gut, but it's possible it's just been moving about.

What are my limits in terms of cardio? I've been warned off doing too much on the basis that it eats into your weight gaining. If I'm jogging (well, panting and jogging) for half an hour 3 times a week is that too much? too little?

I see this coming up alllll the time all over the place and it's becoming one of those all pervading fitness myths imo - an element of physiology taken and blown out of context for the masses.

Unless you're planning on running marathons on a regular basis then don't worry about it - get out there and run and jog for as long as you want. Keep up the weight training if you want to keep having muscles, but don't let anyone warn you off doing any amount of cardio.
