    hey iv started back in to the running working towards passing a fitness test.

    i would like to maybe plan out a route for the distance i need to run for the test, iv been doing a peticular route and would love to know how long it is.

    is there any way i can?

    Howdy,

    If you sign up on www.mapmyrun.com it will calculate both distance an elevation for you - you plot the route on a google-maps style interface

    gmap-pedometer.com was the original google maps hack - it's a bit more straightforward than the mapmyrun site. Google Maps itself allows you to do the same these days too, and save them to your account. They all do elevation details.

    In the days before google maps etc, I would cycle it with a mileometer on the bike. www.dto.ie is another site to look at, useful for trips, you enter 2 dublin street names and it creates a route with miles and calories etc if you choose walking or cycling.
