Hey everyone I know theres many methods of measuring bodyfat% from the scales that send a current up through your body to measure the impedance created to the calipers but I've read a few things that say all the methods produce widely different values. Whats the best way I can do it at home? I can't afford nor know anywhere that does a hydrostatic weighing so any advice given is much appreciated.

I suppose a scales or a handheld bodyfat monitor would be the best way to do it at home. Just make sure you go by the reading from one source so you can see your results. No method is really that accurate AFAIK.

I've stepped onto the same scales twice in a row and got different body fat readings for both.

Calipers and monitoring waist size is probably the best method at home. Don't bother abotu the actual percentage. Just track the mm readings.

One of the lads and I are converging on a weight class, I'm coming down, he's going up. So a weight droppping comp was out.

As a result we're having a bet on as to who has the lowest %bf for the 1st of sept. What would ppl recommend as the best method to do the final test? There's a few bob involved in this :)

Where are you based? I have a DEXA scanner in the lab (what #smokey# is referring to)...

It will tell you how much muscle, fat and bone you have to the nearest gram.
