PWO shake

Now I know the advice usually given to relative newbies on here is to forget about shakes/supplements etc until your diet is right and you're training hard.
My diet is good (in my opinion) combining plenty of lean protein (1g per lb of bodyweight) with as much vegetables as I can eat, supplemented with 50g unsalted nuts and plenty of fruit per day.

I purchased pro-x last week so have started taking that.

I am now looking for a good carbohydrate to take along with my pwo protein supplement. I've heard great things about maltodextrin, so am looking to add .8g per kg bodyweight in with my shake.

Can anyone recommend anywhere to buy maltodextrin, and also would there be any problem mixing it in with a pro-x protein supplement?

    thanks

AFAIK you can get Maltodextrin in the baking sections of a lot of supermarkets, or maybe thats Dextrose. Either way they both pretty much do the same thing PWO and will mix with whey powder.

Carbs after your training is a good idea but I think worrying about the differences between simple sugars like maltodextrin or dextrose is probably overkill to be fair. Shamrock glucose from the baking section in your local superquinn will do the trick at something like 1.20/kilo!

Glucose is pretty much the same thing as dextrose, they call it dextrose in the US more. It is in babyfood sections in supermarkets, if not in the baking section.

Maltodextrin can be got in home brew shops and some health stores, never saw it in a supermarket.
