I need help. The weight has PILED ON. I'm going back to the gym as soon as this is over.. but.. ah. I am repulsed.

I am 5'8 and have always been a size 10 now.. Ive jumped to a 14.. I know I can lose it.. What is the best way to burn fat?

I'm sorry but you're in big trouble. You still haven't hit the "freshman ten".

    Diet, diet and diet.

Aim to get a quality protein in each meal, and ditch all the junk. No chips, no burgers (unless you made them youself), no takeaways, no booze, no sugar, no biscuits or cakes. As much as possible, replace all the bread and pasta with more vegetables or fruit (in that order).

This doesn't mean you can't have a life, but it does mean no more mindless eating, and when you go out to eat, order carefully.

Whatever form of exercise you will do is the best for fat burning. My own recommendation is that you get a bicycle and cycle everywhere you go. You'd be amazed at how many calories you can burn on a good day on a bike.

I don't agree. I won't be able to afford food in college!

How do you think you put on the weight????

Quit the moaning and stop eating crap and you will drop the weight.

Read the stickies. Oh and best of luck in the exams

Are you eating breakfast? Often find most of my mates in school don't eat a proper breakfast which then leads them to eat more junk during the day especially at lunch.

When the poster uses the words 'I am repulsed' i think that qualifies as moaning.

It just amazes me when a person put on plenty of excess weight in a short space of time (which takes lots of practice in eating crap) and then looks for the 'best way to burn fat', come on the answer is staring you in the face.

i'd say she is aware of the eating crap being a problem, she prob came on looking for exercise tips to burn fat.

come on leaving cert is a stressful year, and the majority of people would put on weight during exams as your sitting in all day studying (supposedly:))

    anyway, stop eating the crap.

start going to the gym and do some weight training and interval training on the cardio machines.
get shown how to do the exercises, get a program and if you are wondering about it post it here.

buying a bike as said is a great idea! should do that myself :D

Not that hard lass, i went from 14 to 16 stone in the last month of college because all i did was get up, sit in front of a computer for 14 hours, eat alot and go back to bed.

back down to a healthy 14 stone just from walking would you believe. Go out and walk for about hour, hour and a half a day and watch your food. weight should fall off ya

Everything in moderation... Us Irish, generally, have serious problems identifying what a normal portion size is.

It's a lot easier to put on the weight than to take it off, particularly when we've been told that we should be eating 6-11 portions of starchy carbs a day, and most of us don't know what size a "portion" is. When I think of all the rice and potatoes I used to force myself to eat, in the belief that they were essential for health, I want to cry.

It's bad enough putting on fat from food you really enjoyed. Getting fat from stuff that tastes like packing pellets is just heart breaking.

My mum used to give us potatoes every day...boiled aswell, the worst kind and it was usually 4 potatoes(2 potatoes really cut in half each) then sometimes a baked or a few roast potatoes too. Madness.
