The stand out bits for me were;

-Baltar talking to the cylon, just very funny for some reason
-The conversation between D'Anna and Laura
-The ending, just great

Overall very enjoyable, a very good episode.

I thought the Cylon was going to say 'By your command' and Baltar would become king of the Cylons :)

Twas good alright,
Enjoyed the bickering between baltar and Laura. nearly fell of my chair when D'anna told Laura she was the final one, cruel cruel joke!
Not sure where the plot will go from here
I wonder how will the other 4 react to D'anna's return to the fleet, will they let her expose them?
Am i correct in saying that that esp will be the last one for a while due to the midseason hiatus?

Good episode alright, was very funny when D'Anna said Laura was the final Cylon and then burst out laughing. :D

Also the scene where the hub was nuked and two basestars beside it were destroyed looked amazing.

What an episode!!! It's really haunted me after...the things Baltar said to the centurion will no doubt lead to an uprising (assuming the drones are all telepathically linked). Cavill already alluded to the risk of this.

Speaking of Cavill, is that it for him??? I still think the original Cavill is on Earth waiting for them all.

The music was really good too, very sad, the whole episode had a sense of inevitability to it. The deception, two-timing and killing all leading upto the final war between the faithful Colonial/Cylon rebels, and the Cylon unholies.

Enjoyed it. Loved Roslin's line to Helo about him not being married to the entire production line.

I didn't think it was a great ep. Baltar talking to the toaster was probably the highlight alright. We didn't get anything special in the effects for the battle. Anyhow looking forward to the next one :)

Good episode. Magnificent acting by Olmos / McDonnell
.
Loved the bit with Baltar attempting to incite the Centurion to revolt. It was gripped by his every word :)

Is Baltar possibly the Dying Leader now instead, hmmm?

Oh yeh, I guess Anders wasn't on board the rebel basestar after all

My jaw literally dropped when D'Anna told Roslin she was a Cylon. I was looking forward to visiting the bragging rights thread ... I guess I was wrong though :( Boo-urns. Pretty decent episode compared to some of the recent ones.

Really enjoyed that episode. The space scenes were good. Lost has a lot to learn about CGI from Battlestar. :) Loved the scene with Roslin being told she was a Cylon. Absolutely classic. :D

I wonder if this will see a return to the baltar of the original series? In charge of the (or a) Cylon fleet.

Thought it was a good episode.

Baltar talking to the Centurion was brilliant, it was like a Jehovah Witnessor or Morman who knocks at your door trying to convert you.

And the look on Roslin's face when D'Anna said she was only joking was priceless. Who said the Cylons didn't have a sense of humor!

Yeah, I reckon you're right that Cavill is dust, but I'd say there are probably still a good few Number Ones onboard base ships in the non-rebel cylon fleet. They aren't exactly Cavill, but they probably have much the same attitude as him with regards to the rebel cylons and the colonials. I'm guessing one of them will step up to take Cavill's place.

It would seem Cavill is proper dead. I can think of ways for him to be alive but whats the point this late.

The episode was OK but really it was just a big soup with no real cohesion. Liked the Centurion of course.

Phew!

Although these mid-term breaks really kill the whole momentum of the frakkin' series.

I really enjoyed this one. I was a little bit disappointed that El Prez didn't let Balthar die, it was a bit of a cop out. Even though he is pretty much my favourite character, I thought that would be quite an appropriate way for him to go.
Also, since "carnage" has been mentioned in many interviews etc and since there aren't that many eps left (11 after this one?) it may be time to get started.

I enjoyed this episode! I agree with the whole #3 and Roslin thing. I nearly fell out of my chair when she said "and you don't know you're one of them?".

The space scenes were a bit lacking in my opinion.... but I did like the whole cylon pilot uniforms! :D

Can't wait for the next episode!

the Leobens aren't sexy enough to wear skin tight black pvc spacesuits :)

Absolutely awesome episode, although I was a tad let down by the ending, I was hoping for a big reveal from 3 like from the telling the pres she's a cylon from the previews, which would lead into the mid season break.

Speaking of Baltar. I am wondering is Baltar the dying leader who leads his people to the promised land as predicted in the prophecy.

Maybe the prophecy refers to a religous or spiritual leader rather than a president? Baltar has gathered a large following in the fleet lately. Maybe a Moses type prophecy?

• Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 86,729 ✭✭✭✭Overheal

ive stopped reading into it at this point. theres like 50 dying leaders to choose from.

but its probably still rosalyn. deanna said it herself Gaius would live.

They seem to generally have trouble getting that actor. In a lot of episodes they just show a scruffy guy in the background (like in "Downloaded") in order to represent the character.

Excellent episode but have a few trivial questions

How come the Basestar they are on can jump at will yet when they launch the attack the Resurrection Hub just sits there?
Why did they have to do a load of jumps back to where they left galactica, could they not have done it in 1?

The enemy comes to launch a surprise attack on probably the single most important resource you have, and you run? Nah...

-EDIT: Read this incorrectly, thought you were referring to the Basestar's jumping...
Scruff wrote:

Its been suggested a couple of times in the past that there is a limit to the distance that can be travelled in a single jump.

They took out the ftl almost immediately. There was no time. Also Cavil was dead and boomer ran away.
Scruff wrote: »

The basestar was badly damaged which doesn't help. As well as there being a limit on the jump distance.

As well as whats been said above about limits to jumps and the ship being damaged, the base ship took a good few jumps before it arrived at the Hub.

At the start of the ep when the hybrid was scared and confused it jumped the ship several times looking for the Hub.

Boomer said something about them just missing it a few times so i'd imagine they went quite a distance chasing the hub and had to return all the way back to the fleet.

Great episode by the way, not the best in the series but still excellent tv, next week is going to be big!

The heavy raiders launched towing the offline vipers. The vipers weren't detected at this point because all of their systems were powered down. The fact that the raiders had been launched was brought to the attention of Cavill and Boomer but they decided to do nothing about it - they assumed that the Cylons were coming to the Hub to get Deanna. It was only when the vipers went 'live' and launched the attack on the Hub that the danger was realised but it was already too late. The FTL was taken out almost instantly.
Why did they have to do a load of jumps back to where they left galactica, could they not have done it in 1?
I understood that they were retracing the jumps they took to get to the Hub from Galactica. Presumably the navigation systems of the Basestar are still not 100% and the easiest way to get back to Galactica is to go back the way they came rather than recalculate a completely new jump solution and risk getting lost.

Yes I presume that's how the next iteration of the cycle will kick off. The skin jobs and the humans are one and the same now. The toasters will rise up and the cycle will begin again.

On a side note: What are the odds on Baltar seeing a 'head' Centurion in a future episode? Centurions are sentient beings and the way it was standing in front of Baltar during the explosion reminded me very much of the scene on Caprica with Six during the attack. Maybe the Centurion and Baltar shared a similar moment. :D

The Cyclons may not understand the tech that allows them to download, perhaps only the final 5, or just the final 1, understand. Perhaps its because it was made at Earth, and they don't know where Earth is.

retracing jump steps doesnt make sense. That raptor that jumped away made it back to fleet in episode 8 in just one jump.

• Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,578 ✭✭✭Slutmonkey57b

B for Baltar
The raptor pilot knew the jump co-ordinates? From the episode, it looked like the skinjobs effectively had no control over the hybrid's course plotting. Maybe they couldn't just give her the co-ordinates. Maybe it was just a convenient plot device. :)

Well distance does matter. We've heard them talk about locations being "x number of jumps" away before. If they were jumping further away every time, then it would take them a similar number of jumps to get back. If they were jumping around in a more scattered fashion, then they could possibly make it back in one or two jumps.

Great episode again, BSG really is a TV series on top form.

My minor quible with the internal logic of the BSG universe that doesn't quite add up .....

So centralise your resurrection function in one place where it has no protection and no ability to be reproduced if destroyed. Yeah, I'm sure if you'd mastered the ability for deep space travel, the flaws in that plan would never seem apparent .....
