System 10 vs Weightwatchers

I'm just wondering which one is the quickest way to lose a few dress sizes?

I have joined Weightwatchers 2 weeks ago, tried the points plan, failed misberably and now back to eating crisps ! :(:( It seems like it's going to take forever for me and I'm not feeling very motivated by it either... the frist few days yes, but not the days after... Also I stay over at my bf house a lot and he lives with his parents, it's proving hard to keep track of everything I eat.

I heard about the System 10 diet. It seems like it's the quickest way to go.

    www.system10.eu

I'm just worried that me paying €200 and nothing works is going to be a waste.

I only want to lose a few dress sizes and preferably before Sept as I have a few Gala Balls in the winter.

I know I should stick to the WW plan but it's seems like a whole load of effort for me TBH, counting points isn't what I want to be doing especially on the weekends, and the Core plan doesn't really appeal to me either...

Has anyone done the System 10 diet? I read another post about it on here, it seems excellent but I need more opinions on it first.

That system 10 lists "exact calories" as an "essential key".

    Exact calories= counting points.

So I wouldn't bother with it if I was you. Most people's problem is simply portion control, a digital kitchen scales would be a better investment. But if you refuse to monitor how much you eat then I cannot see how you can expect to lose or gain weight in a controlled way.

Umm you seem to be suggesting that system 10 will owe you the weight loss because you have shelled out for it.

Losing weight is about self awareness.
If your heart isn't in it enough to bother tracking your intake, then no outside source is going to motivate you.

Two weeks isn't a lot of time to give something. I can see how point counting would not suit everyone so would you not try the other plan without the points. Three meals a day and certain foods can be eaten at any time.

I'm going to try the curves with a diet plan - just doing a serach here and saw this one.

    Good luck.

I think I was at a "presentation" for this at a local hotel last year, and it took a huge amount of work, but I eventually managed to dig a sample diet out of them. It was very specific about what you could eat, mostly very boring food, and there was an occasional day when you ate nothing but raw vegetables. I didn't sign up.

Hell, if you are prepared to eat whatever a stranger tells you, give me you stats and I'll design a boring diet for you for free!

    Hi Donegal girl

Weightwatchers will help you drop a dress size no problem and without any huge sacrifices. Just as another poster said self awareness and some motivation which is always needed for any diet. I dropped a dress size last year with them and honestly, it was relatively easy. You just need to plan, plan, plan your meals and learn about points and portions. After a few weeks it will become second nature to you.

You say it didnt work for you and you are now eating crisps again. Did you stay for the meetings? Was your leader helpful? Perhaps change meeting if you didnt feel motivated. Honestly, I would give up my lunch break and walk 25 minutes to my meeting (leader was great) for half an hour. S he was so helpful and I would walk away feeling in the "zone".

You've just got to visualise yourself in that next dress size down and get back on the wagon ;) Best of luck!!

    Hi Donegal Girl...

I had found my miracle - the way to loosing my 5 stone! It was like an apirition in the local newspaper and I googled it. Then, I signed up online to System 10 about 3 weeks ago and started in last Monday. To date I haven't lost a pound only €129 and have put on 0.1kg even though I weighed my food i.e. for breakfast you are allowed 2 ryvita with marmalade, 2 rashers and 2 tomatoes... for lunch you can have 3oz of rice (wholegrain), 5 oz of chicken/fish & 7oz of vegetables! then for dinner it's a variation of lunch! (Sample - it will vary depending how slow your metabolism is and is based on how you answer the 300+ questions -this might be a slight exageration - but I was anwering questions for about an hour online)

It is worse than any fat camp or bland nutritionist's menu out there with strict diet plans and unrealistic exercise schedules (4 sessions a week with 1 hour cardio and 40 min weights!)

They only put the best testimonials on the site but fail to mention about the 'raw (organic only) veg' days or all the supplements you have to buy in order to regularise your imbalances! (They didn't even do a blood test but were able to tell me I had an irregular hormonal imbalance - my doctor couldn't diagnose this from a few questions - so how can someone at the other end of a computer?)

Quiet frankly if you want to lose a dress size cut back what you eat and break your meals down to five small ones daily (use smaller plates)... walk/jog for 20 mins a day, take the stairs in shops and stop wasting your money of silly fad diets like this one!

If I knew then what I know now I would have given the €129 to my personal trainer as a Christmas bonus!!!

Hope this helps and have a merry christmas...

Thanks for telling us. I've seen their sales pitch and wondered how good the product was. Nice to know.

    Unexpected bump!

Have given up on them both TBH! Have lost a few pounds but that's mainly due to more walking now I don't have a car. Hopefully I'll try to walk more for my NY resolution! And just cut out the snacking.

Thats not necessarily through about cutting down your food and eating 5 smaller meals and 20 min walk a day-if you dont burn off what you take in you wont lose weight.System 10 can help you get the right foods that suit your body type - your better to go to a system 10 consultant-one that knows what they re talking about when it comes to exercise also. If you do the system 10plan and dont do the exercise it wont work-the correct way to lose weight is to regulate your metabolism and thats exactly what system 10 does- its a healthy food plan-that encourages the body to burn fat 24/7 naturally, foodplans are a nutritionallly balanced diet.:) And as for eating veg for one of the days-the reason is to get the harmful toxins out of your body which you put in!!! so 3 days in 3 weeks is not bad [when it does your body good the get them out]

Sounds like total crap to me. Eating vegetables does not remove toxins from your body.

As above, drink plenty of water and eat plenty of fruit and vegetables as part of a balanced diet.

If you really want to go the whole hog, eat only organic foods (although this has not been scientifically proven to make any difference to health), give up alcohol, don't smoke or take drugs, exercise 4 times a week and only use organic cosmetics. Oh and clean your house and clothes with vinegar, lemon juice and baking soda instead of detergents and chemicals.

Then wear a mask and never have contact with other humans and whatever you do, don't go near a car or bus or cow, and above all else don't go outside!

System 10 is an excellent system and they really want you to loose weight.

The veg day is quite easy and it doesnt have to be raw veg and as depressing as the earlier post says. The consultant will talk you through a veg day. Ideally they would like you to eat some raw and cooked. You can steam/boil, have a salad with light dressings such as balsamic vinnegar or extra virgin olive oil, you can have vegetable soup/juice with some fruit. If you cant stomach a veg day you can have a fruit day but they prefer mainly veg.

Raw fruit and vegetables are not only the easiest food for the body to digest, and the means of getting the most nutrition from food, but they also have a brilliant cleansing effect on the body. Cooked food is more complicated for the digestive system; uncooked food enhances the metaboblism and strengthens the immune system. Instead of a slow sluggish constitution, the body finds its best level for peak performance.

So if you have a weak metabolism a veg day can give you massive health benefits. I suffered from a weak digestive system and a slight blood sugar imbalance. Since I wasnt breaking down food fast enough and absorbing the nutrients I was advised to take a digestive enzyme with my specific food plans. I didnt need to take supplements for my blood sugar imbalance as the food plans would take care of this area. I liked that it was specific to my weak areas where as someone else might have a hormone imbalance or an underactive thyroid. You have to do 4 good cardio sessions a weak for about 40-60 Mins and 2 resistance sessions about 15 mins each. You can do the resistance with the cardio. I was advised a home plan as it cut out the cost of gym membership.

I met my consultant once every week and for a review which was great. If I didnt like a food on my plan she would switch it and it made the plan so much easier to follow. I asked why blood tests where not used and she said because they normally show up problems at a late stage when a lot of damage has already happened such a a diabetic where as system 10 goes on signs and symtoms similar to what a doctor does. You are allowed to drink aswell but it depends on your sex to how much and the different drinks are listed in your success guide. I was also allowed a daily treat of whatever I liked but not over 200 calories they gave me a detailed list of foods under 200 calories which is helpfull.

I would strongly advise you do this plan with a system 10 trained agent as having that weekly contact was great and I could contact her if I had any questions.

I wish you all good health and have a merry christmas. :D

System 10 is a great diet plan if you want to find the right foods to suit your metabolism. There's a big questionnaire to answer when you initially apply for the diet plan but that just to help understand your preferred foods and to establish how to correct your metabolism. I did the diet changes but did not strictly follow the portions sizes. If I was hungry I ate more, if I didn't want it I didn't force myself. I also cooked the food in the way I liked it and didn't make it bland or uninteresting. I'm chinese so my cooking is colourful and flavoursome, with sugar, salt spices you name it. I also didn't follow the exercise plan strictly. i'm a mother of four and I run a restaurant so it isn't always possible. I just try to be more active. I don't buy milk or bread in my weekly shop, instead I walk down to the local shop for smaller items. The walk is short enough and I'm home in 15/20 mins. I did 3 gym classes a week and worked as hard as possible when I got in to the gym and made up the rest of the exercise by walking more often here and there. I kept my walks short and sweet but often. I also didn't do the veg days. The recoomend them but if you eat right 5 days out of 7 you should be ok. You would lose more weight if you follow the diet and exercise strictly, but this shouldn't be a concern if you are losing. The whold point is to make lifestyle changes that suit you with the ultimate gain being a slimmer healthier you. I didn't see any weight loss in the first 10 days, because my body had't adjusted right away, but in the 3rd week the pounds were falling off 2/3 p/w. I went from 71kg to 58kg in 6 weeks. Once you start making small changes and you start to see some results, you keep some more smaller chnages to keep improving and keep reaching your targets. For someone who doesn't exercise at all to go and do the huge amount of exercise recommended is too much. You decide you can manage 10 mins but once you start you would probably do 20 mins and more if you had a mate to join in. You could do your walking in the shopping centre whilst window shopping, just make sure you don't stop at the rails for than a min. walk away go back again later for a better look. The diet is a good one, as it is designed to suit you. You just need to make it work. The limited foods each week also makes it easier to the shopping, you eat the same foods on each plan for a week. The idea behind this is to train you to recognise the correct portions of foods. so you learn by eye to estimate whether you are eating too much or not. Go out and eat at a restaurant without worrying about damaging your diet. Have a soup or slad to start and only half of your main course but have something you'd really like to eat. After all you are out. go home and have a dessert but just buy a single portion of something so you don;t over eat.

Hope I've helped you. U can do the system 10 diet over and over agian every few months if you feel you need to as well!

Hi,Just wanted to say I done System 10 for my weeding and lost 3 and a half stone in 12 weeks. It was hard work and I stuck with it every step of the way and the results showed on my wedding day. What you put into the diet is what you get out of it and everyone has bad days but its a life change not a diet.

started on system 10 june 2012, stuck rigidly with program for about 8 weeks, I lost about two and a half stone, after program was finished carried on with the principles that I had learned, eating mostly whole grain foods where possible, limiting butter, cheese, milk intake, red meat reduced to once or twice a week, alcahol once a week etc combined with on average 3 days with some exercise. I have continued to lose weight at a slower pace, total now over 5 stone lost without having to kill myself so I would recommend it as it gives you a good kickstart and if you apply methods in moderation afterwards it will continue to work once you have a bit of patience.

Hi I joined System 10 and I found it to be the greastest waste of time and MONEY possible. Weightloss was virtually nil and I stuck to it religiously. I think it is a real money making racket as they push supplements and vitimins on you each week.
When I didn't turn up for the last 2 sessions of 6 I never got a phone call or any contact what so ever, she had my money and that was all she wanted.
I would not recommend it under any circumstance.

I have now joined weight watchers as I do need to lose about 3 stone and I do need help. Weightloss is slow but steady now with 4 weeks in I am down almost 7 lbs.
