Quick update on day 1a from Manilla APT

Much to my suprise there is going to be a huge overlay with a guarantee off $1,000,000. Today 124 players started and numbers are approx 120 for 2moro giving a 300k+ overlay.
There were 32 players remaining from today with the average being 38k.
I start tommorrow day 1b and quite looking forward to it. played a few cash games and all i can say is wow. the standard off play is disgusting to say the least. playing 100200blinds sat in with 10k left with 30k all pesos in less than an hour.60peso / euro
prizepool was unofficial but it read something like $270,000 for 1st $190,000 for 2nd $110,000etc etc. with 30 prizes announced
will post an update here after 2moros play.

arrive late by 20mins less than a lap off the table i look at 99. CO raises 200 i reraise to 700 he calls flop comes 245 he bets 300 i reraise 900 he reraises i jam. he dwells for a full 2 mins and tables a3. im walking away from table turn 9 river 2. ship it. nearly 1 lap later i look at a10 raised preflop to 150 i called flop comes kq8 it goes check 200 i call .turn comes J i check he bets 500 i reraise 1900 and say to him theres always another hand let it go. he calls river comes a blank and i check quickly. he dwells and i say do the decent thing and check and he bets 2000. i reraise 3500 more and he calls. after these hands i had to walk away from table as im shaking with excitment now on just under 28k. an hour in.

JBet Pro Wakita Lloyd Eliminated In Devastating Fashion

On a flop of 2s4h5s Lloyd bet 200 and was instantly raised to 550 by an unknown opponent. Lloyd then made it 2,200 to go and was amazed when his opponent instant shoved explaining "It is going to cost you your entire stack to call".

Lloyd fired back with "I can't see how you can play 3 6. You only live once, I call".

Lloyd turned over As3d to have his opponent dominated with 9h9d.

The turn was the 9s and when the river came the 2c Lloyd was left shattered and walking to the rail.

yes i was very lucky. pokernews have the bet sizes wrong. just on a lunch break now and sittin on 28675. folded a set when the board 4 flushed.8k pot would have seen me move near chip lead just half hour before break. table is very tight now with the fish gone from the table. 3.84% its still playing on my mind how lucky i got so glad off this break. time to compose myself and start grinding. objective to make day 2.

He had pocket Jacks the other player had pocket sixes.

There was 100 chips of a difference so its as close as you can get to a double up, without actually doubling up..

at the 6th level i had 29975 went for dinner and GF bag was stolen in hotel resturant. didnt join back play till the 7th level where i had 24k in chips. got back up over 32k and found JJ. no time to post the complete hand will do later as i want to see what others would do in my position. i folded on the turn and down to 16k ish. struggled on for the next 2 levels and heading back with 26500 average is just over that and blind 400800. so with one level to go objective now is to just stay alive and return 2moro. we just got upgraded to a suite in this hotel and there is 2 toilets 2 32" screens. doesnt really compensate for the GFs loss but im going to push for a full refund. no more bad beats please.

the JJ v 66 hand was only a 15k pot. i was never in trouble with my stack after the call as i had 10k left. will post in an hour or maybe less

ok day 1 over, settled for 26000 spot on average is just over 30k and blinds when we return at 2 tommorrow are 500/1k with 200 ante.

The only big pot i lost today involved me holding JJ. we are the 2 big stacks on the table and ive reraised this guy a few times preflop taking it down each time so early position i look at JJ think the blinds are 200/400 cannot remember but i raised preflop to x4 the blind other big stack calls the flop brings 898.
player x bets into me 1900 i reraise 3k more. he dwells and reraises 3k more. i feel im still ahead here but so afrraid off a8. im nearly folding here but decide to call and see a turn. turn brings a K, now theres a flush on board and he checks. i felt he was weak then and bet 5k. he jams his stack and got me covered. i got to fold here with just over 16k left. anyone else have a different line???
this was my only pot to lose and would have seen me so comfortable for the rest off the day. so hoovering on 16k i rob a few pots get JJ again and take out a guy for a 15k pot pushing me back over 25k mark. blinds were getting tough and it was hard to get any raises in.

happy with how the day turned out bar the GF bag getting stolen. missed nearly 3 hrs off play today with getting up late posting here and missing nearly 15 mins each break and totaly skipped level 5 due to the handbag snatch.

ohh well these things happen. it will be a free week for me as ill get a refund from the hotel for the stay and then a few quid more for the camera and phone and just under 500 cash, wouldnt mind they didnt want me to call the police because off the publicity they will get from it. it is a 5 star hotel and approx 8 armed guards with airport scanners and a dog on each entrance. so i feel security let us down. it took them over an hour to respond to our requests and when we viewed the cctv footage the lady who robbed the bag walked by us as we were telling the reception.

GF was a little upset but everything is fine now as she has full time travel insurance and the hotel upgraded us.

play starts back tommorrow at 2 pm so thats 7am irish time. wish me luk guys and gals and again thanks for all the support.

Fair play for the reports Dave and best of luck. Glad to see you are still in after a troublesome day. Who knows it might all work out for the best, you might have missed your exit hand with all that was going on.
