I'm quitting my lazy, messy lifestyle. I feel like crap, and need to eat healthy and get moving! I've given up the smokes.

Now, exercise. I have a threadmill and Lateral thigh trainer at home, I'm going to do an hour walking on T'mill in the morning, then do half an hour on lateral thigh trainer, then another hour on T'Mill in evening. I need to (badly need to) tone up my tummy, and arms. Haven't a clue what exercise to do for that.

I do hope in the next month or so, to do hot yoga or Tae Bo, and either kickboxing or boxercise.

Now, my diet. I never eat breakfast(bad, I know). How much carbs should I eat through out the day? What do you suggest I eat for breakfast before I exercise, and again in the evening?

I want to do this right.

    Thanks in advance, LG.

this thread is quite similar to yours

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055299520

tone up means essentially have a low body fat and good amount of muscle tissue.

    are you in a gym?
or could you get some home weights to build some muscle? (you wont get bulky)

    please eat breakfast.
eat a mixutre of protein and carbs, eggs on toast for instance. this is where the stickie on diet comes into play, have a quick read through it.

tao bo and kickboxing are great classes to go to, why wait a month?

as for an hour on the treadmill, personally i would go with a higher intensity and less time on the treadmill.

    Aye, thanks for the reply.

I have two kids, so at the moment I can't join a gym.

I was saying a month because I thought I'd be too unfit for it now?

I'm hoping to loose 2.5 stone and tone up. I'll buy some kind of weights to use at home.

I'll have a look at thank link now, cheers for that.

there should be a beginner class.
tae bo is great, its tough too.
try circuits, or step maybe before, step would be less intense really.
but no need to wait a month.

if you want to lose weight you need to be calorie deficent, ie consume less calories than you use.
that doesnt mean eat less really, it means eat smarter.
weights and intense exercsie like tae bo/circuits will help speed up your metabolic rate, and will aid this process.

you can check how many calorie you are consuming on www.fitday.com

    :)

Good for you. Now instead of asking for people on the board to hand you a tailor-made workout and nutrition plan, thereby continuing the lazy cycle, why not read the stickies that are packed with information and (I'm fairly confident) will answer 90% of your questions and then some?

    Diet and Nutrition
    The Basic Blocks of Fitness
    Fitness Links
Oh and particularly post 2 of the Fitness Charter

Right now there's a Beach Body Challenge going on for boardsie's, there's a support thread here and and information thread here.

And in the event that this much information feels overwhelming here's a
Be active for 30 mins plus, four to five times a week. Eat lots of vegetables, some fruit, plenty of lean meats, unprocessed dairy and good fats and cut sugar from your diet wherever possible.
