Start swimming laps daily. Start off at 20 and add one per day. Keep your cal count to 1800 or below. Cut out booze, soda, fast food, sweets, and desserts.

Without knowing his current weight and activity levels its impossible to give someone their ideal daily calorie count. Best idea would be for the OP to post up his current diet and exercise plan, if there is any, and we can work from there.

Also, OP, do you have access to weights/a gym??

Find a sport that you like and start doing it a couple of times a week. You must enjoy football, basketball, tennis, swimming, cycling, jogging, tag rugby etc etc
Cut down a bit on the rubbish you eat and you should start to see results. Once your started, and your initial improvements have plateued - you can look towards putting some structure on what you do to achieve any goals you may have. The most important thing is to just start and do something that you enjoy so that you will keep it up and incorporate it into your lifestyle. I wouldn't worry to much about achieving anything other than moderate changes before your holiday...

The kind of results you will achieve in one month are directly proportional to the amount of effort and dedication you put into this effort to get in shape.

You do want to start something that will naturally and enjoyably become part of your lifestyle, but to make the most changes in one month, you need to get analytical and be precise and targeted. Post up a typical day's diet with the times that you eat each meal/snack. Also post your weight and height. Let's take it from there then.

Yes it is hopeless to expect any kind of dramatic changes in a month.

Take this as a kick up the arse. Cringe on the beach as you try to suck in your belly and flex non existant muscle as the beautiful people walk by.

When you get back start long term planning and avoid looking for quick fixes.

Have to say I totally disagree BossArky, per my post above:) Let's see where he's at diet/weight wise and what effort he's prepared to put in first...

celestial, I stand by my comments.

Lots of people come on here and get off to a great start for a week or two then fall of the wagon as they cannot commit to a proper exercise regime and healthy eating habits.

The chances are that the OP will either injury or starve themselves looking for radical changes in a month.

I know it is possible to change a bit in one month, but I'm not confident that the OP will do it.

OP, please prove me wrong. Good luck with it.
