It is fairly interesting the amount of different fitness sessions you can do on a pitch so i was wondering has anyone any unique ideas of their own, especially for pre season stuff. Nice to throw a few heads together on this as it is important to keep things fresh.

    4 x 4's

    4 400m sprints 1min rest in between

    4 300m sprints 45 sec rest

    4 200m sprints 30 sec rest

    4 100m sprints 15 sec rest

    3x12's

12 100/110m sprints 30 sec rest (start higher if your a newbie n work your rest times down, trust me) In between each set take a 2/3 min break depending on fitness

    Triangle Runs?

Do these the odd time during rugby training, basically jog try line to half way, sprint half way to opposite try line, jog across try line to far corner then sprint diagonally across the pitch to the corner you started in.

Do 3 sets of 3 with a 1min rest between sets as part of other field fitness (i.e acceleration/speed training)

    Get Ups

Basically take 2-3 leaps and dive to ground, press up and knee tuck. Get back up and do two lengths of the pitch. Only ever used in rugby training abroad. I liked it.

    Enjoy:D

just a quick note on the above, if your only starting off definitely allow more rest time between lengths and sets.
