Canoeing on Liffey

I just bought a Canadian canoe and gear and want to try it on the Liffey as I live close to it in Castleknock.
Does anyone know any spots along the river between Chapelizod and Lucan/Leixlip where I could park a car close to the river?
It's light but still takes a bit of lifting so I'd need to park within 100 ft if I could.

    Thanks!!

The usual get in for the liffey stretch would be at Lucan just above the weir. coming from chapilzod, if you head towards Lucan along the strawberry beds. In Lucan don't go over the bridge just go straight on about 200m until you get to a 90% bend. You can park there (just don't block the entrance). You can also get on just above sluice which is at the N4 junction on the Lexlip side, just across the road form the McDonalds. If Your going to run weirs in the Canadian make sure you have people who can rescue you nearby.

    Here's a useful map http://www.irishwhitewater.com/river_guide/map/index.php?id=246.
Shows all the put ins as well as any weirs along the way. :)

Thanks!! Really appreciate it. I plan to get out this week.
Sorry about delay in replying. I wasn't near a PC for a couple of days.
