Was there a regular game with members of this forum playing a while ago?

Is it still on? If not, any interest in getting a regular game going? I know some of the players on here are big 5 a side fans.

    Any interest?

    So far we have:

    Me
    Bohsman
    Roundtower
    Trippie
    Chopper
    Kayroo

Depending on the day, I might be up for another game. But I already play 3 a week so it really depends.

This guy is just as big a fish at soccer as he is at poker. Don't let him play, he's sooooooo bad and will completely lower the standard of the game
oh wait, he's actually one of the best players there :D

    ted, im very confused!!

i'm away on june 3rd for the summer but would play a game between now and then. i'm such a football fish! :p

in august im actively recruiting players for a regular football team that play in the www.ucfl.ie league.

good place for 5-a-side is www.kilians.com , you can get indoor pitch for 50 a week, proba have to pay for 20 weeks up front, if you get 20 people to put 50 quid up, most weeks you;ll get 10-12 playing. best indoor place in dublin.

Yeah obv not this wednesday, perhaps I picked a wrong time to organise it.

5 a side is better, no where to hide.

Damn I might be up for this, but I do play a 6-a-side league on monday and another regular match on tuesdays and then fridays. If its in a handy southside location and at a good time, theres a decent chance I'll play

I knew the bit about putting up the money up front would put you off

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,639 ✭✭✭Iago

I'd be up for this, but only if it was on the north side. Too much hassle trying to get southside from work and get home afterwards. DCU or Coolock would be perfect. Sportsco wouldn't be bad for a weekday night but they're always booked out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,405 ✭✭✭Goodluck2me

somewhere on the southside, ill play wed too. UCD preferrably.

Is there anywhere central people could play? Do St James Gate rent out the astro pitch?

they do, and whilst you are playing the locals rent out your motor car.

The only time Ive played there was a qualifying match for the homeless world cup squad. I didnt make it :( Trip to Austria would have been nice.

Sign me up. dependant on time/day/place

edit. Sorry just saw its Weds. Still in. How about the astro pitches in st benilda's school Kilmacud?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,771 ✭✭✭carfax

inski, Northside preferably but Southside or City Centre is good too.....Where do I pay, when does it start, does it matter if you are not particularly good (by any stretch of the imagination) at football?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,434 ✭✭✭cardshark202

Well if you could get sportsco that would probably suit most people

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,887 ✭✭✭Marq

I'll play if the time and location (ie southside) is right - can't do wednesday afternoons though as I already have a game then.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,538 ✭✭✭Requiem4adream

i'll play but i might have to throw in a James Morrison special in honour of Trippie. (not a slow ballad!)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Er1ev18h0EI

    just kidding!!! ;)

I'd play anywhere that doesnt have stupid nets hanging from the ceiling...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,039 ✭✭✭Theresalwaysone

OK lads, so far we have these people who are interested.

    Me
    Bohsman
    Roundtower
    Trippie
    Chopper
    Kayroo
    Jbravado
    Goodluck2me
    Carfax
    Iago
    Marq
    CardShark
    RequiemforaDream
    VanDice
    Cooker
    DitPoker
    Jim McDaid (Mr.Plough)
Im pretty sure the nit that is Tommy Gunne will play too if he is around.

Now for a venue. Southside seems handiest.

I dont know many places tbh, so suggest away and I'll look into it. Should be up and running by next Wednesday.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,083 ✭✭✭RoundTower

here are some places that have been suggested

    Sportsco (very central)
UCD (on lots of bus lines)
    St Killians (right by UCD)
St Benildus (on the green line Luas but might be hard to make for some people)

All of those are good for me
