Thread title should be S04E07. Other than that I agree with Mordy Frakkin A.

Best line had to be Tigh: "billions of skinjobs lose their bath privileges"

Good but IMHO not quite as good as last weeks.
Very convenient/dramatic that the Demetrios' (sp?) jump drive has a never-seen-before error at the exact same moment that the wire falls out the back of the radio on the basestar .
Also how were the fleet able to immediately do emergency jump outs when it has been well established that it takes 20 minutes or so to "spin-up"?

BSG used to avoid this kind of lazy, cliched writing.

As soon as El Prez said "lets get some answers" it was immediatley obvious that there weren't going to be ANY frakkin' answers

And I had more than enough of Felix's singing, thanks very much.

Still I liked that they seemed to be getting to the point a bit rather than creating any more open-ended plot lines.

When the prez was telling Tori to get some answers from Baltar.....
I don't care whether you have to get on yours knee's to pray.....or just get on your knee's......

    Ohhh the possibilities...

I too will be aiming to live another week coz that was fantastic.
And yeah by the third chorus i was sick if Gata but i have to say that the last scene was poignant though.

Will so many important people on the base ship when it jumped (and to where i wonder) things will definitely heat up quickly.

That was a breathtaking episode. Best of the season so far by a mile and I just didn't want it to end. Great stuff.

We're sucking diesel now, that was a crackin ep. Great ending.

If Gata doesn't put a sock in it he's gona get one in the head.

I don't think it takes 20minutes at all. There was a problem one time where all the ftl's went offline and when they do that it takes 20minutes to bring them back up or something. They've always been doing quick jumps as far as i recall.

    Great episode i thought.

Wow what an episode! Really, between the last one and this one, BSG has redeemed itself (I mean c'mon, series 3 really tested our patience).

The visions: now that Natalie-6 is dead, that leaves the blonde-6 in the brig, Tigh's bit of ooh-lala. She's the one from the vision then, yeah? Baltar will be with her. They and Hera will be the ones that make it to Earth? I wonder...

Music was awesome, love those Arabic beats and guitar riffs and drums all mixing together in a twisted way.

Digital effects---oh yes, ZOIC are beating themselves each episode. Stunning stuff.

Acting top-notch. Hopefully Tyrol will stop lurking and leering and start showing his tough-guy side again.

It takes 20-30 mins to get the nav computer jump coordinates iirc. This is from the first episode of season 1 were they trying to do 2 jumps before the 33 minute timer and said it was hard enough trying to calculate one.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 432 ✭✭IamBeowulf

Maybe they made modifications, upgrades...? After all, the Pegasus was a more advanced warship, perhaps they were able to streamline the FTL system using the Pegasus' superior technology.

Besides, mistakes happen. It doesn't ruin the show for me.

  • Moderators, Arts Moderators Posts: 10,520 Mod ✭✭✭✭5uspect

Wasn't the time needed to calculate the jump co-ordinates and not spool up the FTL so that they wouldn't jump into a star or planet etc? Indeed didn't they do a blind jump in the miniseries?

They had that episode where Felix networked the ships computers to get a quicker solution allowing the Cylons to infect them with a virus. Once they have emergency jump coordinates sure they should be able to jump quickly within 20 min of the last jump.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,081 ✭✭✭BKtje

I believe they calculate the emergency jump co-ordinates as soon as they jump in. Seeing as they were waiting i imagine they had ample time to calculate and spread those coordinates throughout the fleet for just such an emergency.

That was one f**king good episode. And the penny just dropped with me on the fact that to the Cylons (and not the human race), Starbuck is the Harbinger of Doom. They believe she will destroy them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,969 ✭✭✭robby^5

I think you are all forgetting that the fleet was on a timer ready to jump away to new coordinates, and the demtrius and basestar just arrived in time, hence the entire fleet would be spooled/coordinates locked and ready to execute the planned jump at the time the two ships appeared.

Amazing episode, I really liked the mood swings of the cylons, how they are reacting to the alliance at first with optimism, then with pessimism and finally realising they had to simply trust the colonials and turn a new leaf.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,119 ✭✭✭Volvagia

Great episode, what a start and what an ending!

CGI was great and i loved it when the basestar just popped up above the galactica with no radio. "WEAPONS HOLD!"

I was surprised Athena shot the Natalie 6 though, it wasn't like she did anything.

And poor old Gaeta, singing away with no leg!

And the penny just dropped with me on the fact that to the Cylons (and not the human race), Starbuck is the Harbinger of Doom. They believe she will destroy them.

I'd agree with you there in a way, but is Kara Thrace not the Harbringer of Death as in she is responsible for allying the Humans and the Rebels which will destroy the resurection hub.

By destroying the hub she is bringing "real" death to the cyclons. Just an idea!

Loved the music as well, very cool bass.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,930 ✭✭✭✭TerrorFirmer

Another great episode save for the excessive singing.

Hope the Cylons get even as it were for the killing of the 6th, will be interesting to be if there's any repercussions for Athena. I'm liking the Cylon side of the story, at this stage find myself rooting for them as much as I am the fleet. I actually hope they aren't wiped out as a race by the finale.

Like last week, can't wait for the next one. Series is picking up big time and heading the right way at last.

Oh and- perhaps there's a reason that I missed - but why is Baltar not seeing 6th anymore save for the extremely rare appearance?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,964 ✭✭✭✭MisterAnarchy

Marvelous episode ,thats more like the show I used to love.
    42 minutes of riveting tv.
    Great script,score and cinematography.
The tension lacking in the series up to now was back.
Looking forward to next week .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 86,729 ✭✭✭✭Overheal

I wonder if Natalie is actually dead yet. Where their shipped was shot up and where they are now are two different places. A Ressurrection ship, and a Cylon fleet, could be nearby.

What I'm pissed off with is how was the Hybrid able to perform a jump? What was the point of having to pass FTL control over to the Raptor then? Horse plop I say.

I like where this is going either way. Gaeta needs to quit his bellyaching though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,119 ✭✭✭Volvagia

about the hybrid being able to jump maybe the the ship had healed itself a bit more by that stage.

Natalie said it was healing itself but they just had no raiders left.

It will be interesting to see what Tigh does to prevent the unboxing, of course they could unbox her and he mightnt be a cylon at all

(I still refuse to accept that Saul is a cylon)

Hold on a frakkin' minute .........................

    .................... that means I was WRONG ??!?!?!?! :eek::(:mad::rolleyes::pac:;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 86,729 ✭✭✭✭Overheal

why? We know for certain Tori is a cylon. And we know for certain Anders is a cylon. And all 4 of them heard the song. But by all means think away ;) I think thats the reaction the producers were hoping for. After all Tigh is probably the most human character in the whole series.

Oh well, still plenty of intrigue for me. I'd like to know the connection between 6 Athena and Rosylin still. Assuming shes not the Cylon that is, which I seriously doubt.

edit: yes johnny you were wrong.

The Ionian Nebula frakked with the FTL systems all on its own.

When the fleet emergency jumped at the start of season 2 and the galactica was separated from the fleet, they needed to jump back to the origin of the jump to recalculate where the fleet was because the fleet jumped using a stale jump solution; gaeta never checked that the fleet was sent the new solution after Adama got shot. it does take time to calculate a solution though (20-30 mins lets say) and gaeta networked the galactica computers to cut that to 10 minutes or so. In this case the fleet was ready to jump already.

    There you haves it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,816 ✭✭✭Calibos

I was half expecting the lyrics he was singing to change to 'All Along the Watchtower' any second and thus we would have our answer for the fifth of the final five

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,252 ✭✭✭Dr. Baltar

I LOVED this episode. I was annoyed with Gaeta's singing at first, but the last scene of his voice really prevented the singing from being cheesy.
Also, Hera scared the ****e out of me in this episode. It was like watching the ring or something.

I CANNOT wait until next week. It's going to be unreal.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,930 ✭✭✭✭TerrorFirmer

Was it specified that Kara was the harbinger of Death for the human race or just in general to be implied humanity? Because if not, she could be the final Cylon and the harbinger of death for her 'own' race. If it was specified, then this comment makes no sense. :)

Absolutely crackin' episode. Back to the quality of Season 2 IMO.

I thought Gaeta's tune was quite nice. He certainly has a crackin' voice.

Brilliant episode. Definitely reconsidering re-watching teh season so far at some stage, so much happens in every episode now. I dunno if I am slower and cant follow it of if they are packing more in.

    OMG!!!

    Firstly, what an episode. Brilliant.

Secondly, I feel like Homer Simpson in the episode where he correctly predicts the astroids fate after I wrote this predicting the resurrection ship twist. :)

    DeV.

  • Moderators, Education Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 4,436 Mod ✭✭✭✭Suaimhneach

My interpretation of this is that the cylons are going to have to face their fears about death, willingly in the near future. Something will happen that will force the cylons to have to choose to not resurrect and that they are going to have some problems with that idea
This would also place Kara Thrace as the "harbinger of death" and leading them to their doom etc...

Holy shít DeV, on the ball or wha?

She was always said she was there to guide him, alwaysmaking she he did things in order to effect other events in his favour. Maybe she has him where she wants him as such? I have to admit though i havent noticed his visions of her going decreasing - maybe its because there is so much else going on.

A Very nice idea, im sure cavil would have some questions and him hurting another cylon might turn boomer or even though its unlikly the simons & the dorrels against him.

    So..

Hera - I dont know she freaked me out when boomer woke up and she said bye bye. I dont know what there is so say though we dont know enough info yet. She hasent displayed skills is to young to know if the child is a geneius.

The thing i dont understand is Hera, she is Baltar and head six's baby but bilogically she is Helo & Athena's - Very confusing.

id guess Baltar and caprica 6 will make a play for the baby with Roislin & Athena trying to stop them?

The bomb shell for me was baltar being in the vision in the opera house.
I wonder if anyone will want to reveal they are cylons (the 4), i dont think geata is the 5th - I dont know what way his story could go now

Great episode. The singing was nearly going to deter me from giving it a top vote but that would have been unfair as the overall episode I though was class.

There have been better episodes so far this season than in the whole of last season IMHO

Not sure about that. Last season had the escape from New Caprica, and that was pretty gods damn awesome tbh.

But the consistency of Season 4 has been great so far. Don't think I've voted below 4 points for any episode yet... and a few of them would have easily been 5/5 if there hadn't been the feeling that something even better was on the way. I think we've gotten to that something better now.

And I thought the singing was great. Was used to good effect (particularly the last scene) and I really felt sorry for Gaeta. Always been one of my favourite background characters... to see him loosing a leg and pretty much reduced to tears is a good indication for just how fraked up and dark things are getting on Galactica.

    Occupration
    Preciple
    Exodus Part I
    Exodus Part II
    Collaborators
    Torn
    A Measure of salvation

1-4 where during the cylon occupation - amazing episodes

Collaborators - Well from the name it should remind you of the hit/death squads, this episode features Tom who gave permission for them allowing Roslin to return to office with a clean slate while also making some people who had been wronged feel better.

Torn Was all about Baltar on the base star (him not sure if he a cyon and the basestar music)

A measure of salvation was episode 7 and that was when they found the infected cylon basestar.

Id argue that the first 7 episodes of season 3 are all amaing, some even better than there counterpats from season 4. Season 3 started off very fast because of the story, season 4 started off a little slower, although we got more into i think season 3's first 7 episodes are bttter as they have my favurate scenes like

I had a look on youtube, some scene slike in when Tigh was discussing suicide bombings with Prez or when they where trying to decide if they should kill the Collaborators and then later on all the cylons.

I have to disagree id say they are both amazing and very different seasons so far.
