Gleannsharoon Just outside Castle island Co. Kerry. Sounds lovely and if you drive down it you are taking your life in your hands, the slopes down into the town are exciting and deangerous.

Lyreacrompane, it means a fistful of land between two rivers and is on the Limerick road as you leave Czastleisland and head up the hill. In the locl accent (myself incleded) we extend the a vowel so its more like lyra crom pawn

Knocknagoshel, litereally the hill of the geese, never seen any geese there but its near lyreacrompane

Gortaclea, no idea of the meaning but they have a mart on the Tralee Castleisland road.

    Chairsiveen, also in Kerry.

Guineaguilla, near Killarney, (No idea how to spell it) a murder happened there over land when a man and his nephew conspired to slay the mans brothers, the nephews own father. The body was dumped in a slurry pit for a few days. Still the place name is delightful.

    Scartaglin

    Brosna

    Firies

    Blennerville

All Kerry and all amazingly lyical

For some reason they do lovely placenames in Limerick!

I've heard Oola referred to as "Zero Zero L.A."

Either way there's a great pint to be had in Johnsy's there. One of the good 'uns.

I never seen any there and I used to go out with a girl who lived close to that bend.

That Sonny Knowles guy lives there too. Also, there is a house full of Witches just before you come to that turn,

Mad f**kers, they were on Would You Believe about 10 years ago,

'Brazil' though? Never heard nor seen mention of it :p

Wonder if the Map guys were taking the pis* and one of them lost a bet.

Terminfeckin. Always got sent there when playing Discovering Ireland.
My sister years ago nearly bought a house called 'Eutopia' in Sandpit, Termonfeckin. She said that she really couldnt buy it as she roared laughing everytime she thought of what her new address might be. She bought in Westport instead. Dont ask...
