Have a quick read of that and you'll be asleep before you can say "They're all watching me"

    Help!!! :(

To be honest I think you are sleeping, just not really getting enough of it. You may just not realise it but I can only assume you are falling asleep for an hour or two here and there throughout the night, most people do no matter how much they "can't sleep".

Going a full week with absolutely no sleep would mena you really shouldn't even be able to type.

Well, anything that makes sense at least.

Why must you turn this into a house of LIES!?!:pac: Seriously though, i've done it before between partying and working night shifts and it's hard to even speak after the fourth day let alone type anything coherent or function as a human being.

    Gotta agree with Funk here...

Come on now, 30 mins sleep in 5 days? How can you even work?

OP, I know the feeling and can suffer from insomnia and restless sleep when stressed (I'm acutally having a bit of this at the minute).

May I suggest some Valerian tablets? They're organic and a herbal remedy available from most health shops. Also try some camomile tea or Horlicks before bed.
Try not to do anything that requires a lot of attention before bed. Have a bath or a shower.

    Best of luck :)

there is no way you have only had 30 minutes sleep in 5 days. you have obviously slept more than that. i have done 3 and 4 day benders with no sleep and even with an abundance of stimulants by day 4 it is a struggle to keep going. and you would be jumpy as fcuk at this stage.

what do you work as? becuase if you are sitting at a desk looking into a computer there is definitly no way you could have stayed awake and gone to work all week.

The reason you can't sleep is because of all the insects crawling under your skin. Look close, really close and you should just be able to make them out.

OP. I suffer severely from Insomnia and last week got 2 hours sleep in 3 days! Firstly, figure out what is worrying you! If nothing...then assess what is going on in your life!
The week before last I was extremely bored in work...busy but bored! Sometimes boredom with your job / work situation is the reason for insomnia!
What I do in this situation is to try and work twice as hard..."Can I do 2 hours work in 1 hour?"...silly but I have a little mini competition with myself. Then in the evenings I go to the gym / go for a walk to exhaust myself. I also get myself into a bedtime routine of getting into bed and reading for a half an hour before I am ready to fall asleep...usually reading something boring helps like a Tax or Accountancy manual....If you can get your hands on one of these it would put you to sleep in no time!
Once I am tired enough I close my eyes and destress by body...relaxing muscles one by one starting with the feet and working my way up the body...in know time I am asleep!

Insomnia has plagued me for years and about 4 years ago I convinced myself that I hadn't slept a wink in 2 weeks...went to the doctor and was prescribed sleeping tablets...did the trick for 2 nights...then I was back to square 1! It actually turned out that I was severely ill but thats a different story! Not long after that I found a fantastic book regarding stress and sleepless nights etc...its my life saver!!
Basicially it states that nobody dies from lack of sleep / insomnia...it tells one story about a successful lawywer who went without sleep for his whole working life...he was successful because he was up working whilst everyone else was asleep! One of the mantra's it uses whilst you are having trouble sleeping is "Let go! Let go! Stop Straining. Stop Frowning." If you say this over and over then you should drift off to sleep. Also if you can't sleep then lie in the one position with your eyes shut tight or read until you feel sleepy again! I followed all this last week and low and behold on Sat night I slept for a full 12 hours....best nights sleep in years! Best of luck!!

You must have slept more than this, perhaps without realising it. I've had two hours a night for the last four nights and I've got the shivers and shakes.

If your not sleep you need to eat a bit more. Your body is awake for longer and your brain needs more glycogen to function properly. If your stuck awake at night then eat as if it's day time. It's the only way your gonna get through it without your blood sugar being all over the joint.

Try a long walk sometime tomorrow 1 to 2 hours. Then maybe a Massage to destress yourself (if you don't want to pay i'm sure overheal will oblige).
After that go home and have a nice hot bath then a bottle of nice red wine and a good relaxing movie something like shawshank (uplifting but not exciting). Dont watch tv you'll risk channel surfing and don't go near the pc either. after go to bed and read a book again something light.
