    No, this isn't one.

Can you remember what your first ever post on boards.ie was? Mine was a boring one in UL saying what course I was doing. I wish I'd announced myself louder. Never too late to start I guess!

In a dazzling burst of originality, my first post was in the "Introductions - Say Hello Here" thread in the Newbies & FAQ forum. I was job-hunting then but spending more time arseing around on the internet than sending off CVs. Now I have a job and I still spend a lot of time arseing around on the internet.

was about the metallica gig at the point in '99.

I had a minidisc of half the set, beautiful quality and was wondering if anyone knew where I could get more.

    thankfully, I wasn't banned.

Some trolling somewhere. As I recall I ws slagging off some Meath mate of mine.

    I didn't get banned.

I never thought I'd still be here this far into the future, nevermind be a mod.

But it's been good to me.

I even give something back, in the form of a subscription, and running the Boards.ie Soccer Team (I'm the gyaffer). That blue crest in my sig will bring you to the team forum if you'd like to red about us:)

    *pours salt*:pac:
Having analysed our customer usage pattern of our IOL NoLimits service, it has come to our attention that some of our customers are using this service excessively. This over-usage puts considerable pressure on service capacity and affects the overall quality of the service for all of our IOL NoLimit customers.

Esat Fusion will no longer continue to support this high level of usage of IOL NoLimits as it is not in keeping with the spirit of the service and it is affecting the overall quality of the service for all IOL NoLimits customers. It is with regret that I am informing you of this decision and that your usage level falls into this “over-usage” category. Consequently, your IOL NoLimits service will be disconnected on May 31st, 2001.

However, based on your internet usage pattern, we feel that our other subscription based internet package, IOL Gold, will be of interest to you. IOL Gold is our premium internet service and offers you low cost internet access using an 1891 dial up number. As a high volume user, you stand to save up to 20% per month on your internet call tariffs by using IOL Gold as opposed to free internet access products*.

We are delighted to give you a special offer of one year’s IOL Gold subscription for only £90, which normally costs £120, if you register for IOL Gold before June 15th.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this change.

The link is now long forgotten, so don't ask for it.

I almost got banned for it.

My first post is pretty long. You'll need to get yourselves a cuppa and settle down for a long, exciting and often witty read, full of detail and some nerve-jangling moments as well. It's a roller coaster ride really.

    Enjoy..............

    Xbox modding thread I think....

    *Checks...

    Yup...

Heh, if you go to search and search for posts by your username, and then choose to sort them by thread start date and only display results from a year or older, you get to see most of your oldest posts.

It's really nostalgic, I was quite different back then. I'm slightly less self assured and more sensible these days.

    Fast forward to today.
