LOL, some Arnica and some ice should do the trick. I'm still the handsomest man in MMA even with my face a bit discoloured. It just adds character :D

Richie will pay for that. Least intimidating name ever. Still it could have been worse, he could have called me what he normally does...

thanks was like a war, ill post pics of my ear tomorrow, had to have the cartilage reconstructed, and theres 10 stitches in it yay more ear injuries :( if it aint caulies its slices, my ears must be huge and take the impact of all strikes haha

Yeah hard earned win JM - congrats on that. The subs match was deadly, I think alot of people under-estimated Piotr's ability to avoid being subbed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 830 ✭✭✭Judomad

    whos JM??

ahhhhhhhhh never mind, JudoMad, haha, ur the only person ever to call me that, but thanks, my face and ear took a nice bit of bashing but the triangle was worth waiting for hehe

Thought it was a good show. Yeah he was a big guy and unfortunately for me he knew how to use that bigness too. He didn't really hurt me with the GnP at the end I just couldn't move and wasn't going anywhere and he did a good job- lots of pressure. The eye is out nice and purple which was from a big bang he caught me with after he escaped the armlock but it's not half as ugly as your ear.

either gary's fight or Patrick Hoolahan and Shane Bane's fight were fight of the night imo.

Fair play to you, Barry- it was a good fight.

Regarding the Piotr / Gunni fight: That was what I really went along to see (well, I would have gone anyway, but...). Wasn't sure how well-received it would be by the average spectator but I think judging by the crowd's reactions, particularly towards the end when Gunni made a flurry of attempts to catch Piotr and got his back twice, they got a sense of the high level being displayed. Awesome stuff! One thing that sticks in my head is the power of the bridging that both guys are capable of, they were flying off the ground like they'd been electrocuted at some points.

It was easily 15kgs, he also had an extra arm for hitting me with and was allowed to bite.

Seriously though I knew the guy would be cutting and I agreed to that weight so there's no excuse...

...If I'd known he was going to be THAT big though... :D

just to add...barry did actually ask me to find him a 77kg opponent, i couldnt and the only guy i could get was somebody cutting to 84kgs - barry never hesitated accepting.

    lol :D

How do you fix that ear? loads of stitches? or will it heal itself?

On one of the TUF shows someone had a huge swollen ear early in the fight, it was really bothering him, and the other guy hammer-fisted it a few times and it burst. Nasty stuff.

Hope it heals well, and well done on the win. (saw your fight in Galway with the Matt Hughes special from Triangle:D great fight, we all thought it was a draw)
