Well so far im finding it hard to like much of the songs in the new gta iv so just wondering what are peoples favourite songs and the radio stations there on...I want to find songs ive never heard of but end up thinking are great just like it was in san andreas and vice city.

So far my favourites are pretty well known already in Smashing Pumpkins and that lcd soundsystem song.

Theres a good one on "the journey" station aswell. Its an instrumental one sounds sort of epic...havent got chance to ring the zit number to find out what its called though.

    Anyone any recomendations?

The Gopher track on Electrochoc is brilliant, as is Jailbreak by Lizzy on LRR, along with most of the other tracks. There is only one station I avoid, whatever the Raggaton station is. There are very few songs where I switch station, most of them are on Radio Broker. I am no a Nu Rave Rock fan at all. There are a few gems on Radio Broker tho.

I wanna be your dog is great. Probably my fave in this GTA.

Also liking the electro station, not usually my thing.

I like most of the music but that ****ing sample they play OVER AND OVER AND OVER on Massive B pisses me right off.

Probably the Phillip Glass track - his work tends to be on a different level of epicness. Those Quatsi films with his soundtrack are intense.

Not too many songs I love in this one - 1979 is probably the best. Was playing Three Leaf Clover earlier and that came on as I tried to outrun the cops - great stuff.

Some of the chat shows are hilarious - spent a good while listening to Laslo today.

Depends on my mood though really - would usually stick to The Journey, Liberty Rock, Radio Broker and occasionally JNR (makes me wish there was a GTA in 1930s prohabition era - although Mafia kinda already is that, just not quite as good).

Yep Philip Glass...just dawned on me the song is used in the first trailer for the game.

Comparing gta iv soundtrack to san andreas and vice city just doesnt match up. I just dont like much of the stuff on it at all.

Some of the chat shows are very good. Ricky Gervais is quality in the game. Just a shame in the drop in standard regards to songs from the older gta sountracks. But that is my taste so dont kill me for saying that

Bob Marley - Pimper's Paradise (Tough Gong)
His best piece of work imo, and one that nearly always gets overlooked for more obvious choices. I was chuffed to bits when I found out it'd be included.

ELO - Evil Woman (Liberty Rock)
    Classic!

Top notch soundtrack all around really:)

Ah ELO. What a fantastic band, in some weird chessy and fun sort of way. One of the few songs in the game that put a grin on my face when I heard it blasting out.

Must say I'm loving the Electro station too, especially the following:

Kavinsky - Testarossa Autodrive (SebastiAn Remix) - great song to drive around to.

Boys Noize - & Down - saw him perform this live in Spy last Friday, what a night.
    http://youtube.com/watch?v=sr_eBQzezcQ

Simian Mobile Disco - Tits and Acid - one of their best songs imo.
    http://youtube.com/watch?v=3doZmxKylis

Justice - Waters of Nazareth - classic.

The journey, what a great station. Have a great Global Communication track on that one.

Liberty Rock is the only music station I can listen to. And I pretty much like all the songs they play on it. The rest of the stations just do my head in.

That was me in SA. All I could stomach was the rock station, or chat station. This is my fave GTA soundtrack. VC was good too, but a little too 80's. This is the first GTA with decent electronic music, and the best rock station, LRR

I like Smashing Pumpkins, I've only heard it once though, 1979 is it?
Flashing Lights by Kanye West too

I was surprised to hear Marvin Gaye's song Inner City Blues in the game. I love that song. Also there's a Jean Michel Jarre song in there that ain't half bad.

The soundtrack is growing on me.

At first I only listened to the Liberty Rock and Radio Broker, neither of which had songlists as good as their San Andreas counterparts.

But recently I've been listening more and more to the other stations and there's actually a lot of decent songs in genres I wouldn't normally listen to.

Same here, I'm on a bit of J&R buzz at the moment!

Two tone is a good station also.

In the manual it says Ian Brown is a caller on that American politics station, is it actually `the` Ian Brown. I enjoy listening to Iggy Pop on Liberty Rock, both him and his song, also the second Regee station is legendary stuff.
