Ah come on, they just haven't clicked this season like they did the last one. I reckon if they stay up, they'll be back up in safe mid table next year.

They've been really brutal this year! Plain bad to watch. They are a nothing club who have shown close to zero backbone down the stretch and you just won't miss them.

please oh f**king please Blackburn and Rocque do Birmingham over on Sunday

it would be hilarious if Brum go down after the way they treated Bruce, they've played sh!te football under McLeish and would be no loss to the league IMO

however if Reading don't have the ability to defeat poxy Derby of all teams then they'll deserve to go down aswell

so i'm jumping on the Fulham bandwagon!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,668 ✭✭✭String

Reading to go down with all the Irish that jumped on the bandwagon! Will only have to see Sunderland shirts next year from people that don't have a clue about the club! :D

True. But the reason I point it out in Reading's case is because a perception exists that Reading play this amazing swashbuckling football - that they are the purist's relegation struggler or something. The reality is that they have been just awful this year.

Fulham have been awful too through a lot of the season - but in fairness to them they have been money in the last 10 games and the comeback win at City was a real "**** you we're not done yet" performance. They have shown a lot of fight and character. Reading haven't. And that is good enough for me.

Would I be right in saying this is probably the most exciting finish to a PL season ever?, with the Championship, a UEFA spot and Relegation all in the balance?

Not to mention Bolton with 35

Not for the final weekend they don't.

Even at that, the only reason for that match to have been scheduled would be a possible 4th place fight.

Bolton have been a shocking bunch of lumpers. They were hardly a vision of footballing genius under allerdyce either.

I dont see why Reading having gotten the points first and having a worse 2nd half of the season are any less deserving than Bolton being down their all the time too and putting a couple of wins together or Fulham doing the same.

Hopefully Reading will be able to do enough to stay up. I personally wouldn't rate them as a bottom 3 club even if they have had a bad run of results.

The Fair Play competition ended on May 1st so it doesn't really matter what they do at this stage.

Bolton are safe! Can't hope they go down now can I? :)

Well I do think there is a difference. Fulham spent most of the season with their most important player on the treatment table (McBride - the whole attack revolves around him) and other key figures like Bullard missing. Since February when they got their players back and they gradually came back to peak fitness their performances have steadily become better and they have shown an ever greater determination to not go down.

I'm always going to cheer for the team that wants it more. Fulham have demonstrated so far that they are that team. So one time for the miraculous escape.

Cant see why so many want to see Fulham stay up! They have been chancers for years. Want to see them and Birmingham go down. Id feel sorry for McFadden and Kelly but **** McLeish, Ill be delighted to see him stung after turning his back on his own country.

Really want Reading to stay up what with the 3 Irish lads there. Wigan are no great shakes, but they have in essence ended Chelseas season with that draw unless they can do the same tomorrow. And with Bruce being touted as Fergies successor Im not sure he would want to be the man who ended their title challenge.

Talking of betting, Tony Cascarino tipped Wigan to beat Utd, said the 12/1 was way too big.

Also said Portsmouth were a sound bet at home and if it was any other weekend they would not be so long odds.

Firstly I've just nicked this from another site but tomorrow, if Wigan lose 3-1, and Boro draw 0-0 (both reasonably likely results), they have the same points, same goal difference, same goals scored and same goals conceded.

They also have exactly identical head to head records this season.

Not that it matters much, but if there's a couple of million quid at stake....

    Alphabetical order?
