2022 - 9) The Last Great Australian Adventurer: Ben Carlin's epic journey around the world by amphibious jeep - Gordon Bass.

This was quite interesting. Took me a few months to get through in amongst many distractions. Enjoyed it.

    2022 - 10) The Harbour - A cities heard, a countries soul - Scott Bevan.

A book about Sydney Harbour. Lots if interesting info and back stories on places. Took me ages to get through it as so many life interruptions - but got there eventually.

    2022 - 12) Skyward: Starsight - Brandon Sanderson.

Book 2 in the Skyward series. More detailed than book 1. A bit slower moving. More world building. Enjoyable.

    2022 - 13) The Simpsons Confidential - John Ortved

A disjointed book made up of various accounts from various sources of their time on and around the Simpsons show. This book dragged. Learned a couple of interesting bits and pieces - but was largely disappointed.

    2022 - 14) Skyward: Cytonic - Brandon Sanderson.

This was terrible. Had to skim read from about 25% on.

    2022 - 15) Sydney Noir - A short story compilation.

Collected writings from various authors. Very good.

    2022 - 16) Tiger King: The Official Tell-All Memoir - Joe Exotic.

This was a fun (?) read if you've seen the Netflix doc a couple years ago.

    2022 - 17) History of Australia - Tony Robinson.

Didn't know who this guy was. Some minor celeb. Book itself was a quick easy to read history of Australia - interspersed with random photos of the author doing stuff in Oz.

2022 - 18) Error Australis: The Reality Recap of Australian History - Ben Pobjie

    2022 - 19) Rum - A Distilled History Of Colonial Australia - Matt Murphy.

A funny read. Wasn't as funny as I was hoping though.

Have read a good few Australia history books recently and getting slightly jaded from the same type of book - from no fault of the books themselves.

2022 - 20) This Is a Call: The Life and Times of Dave Grohl - Paul Brannigan

    Enjoyed his back story.

2022 - 21) The Death of Holden - Royce Kurmelovs

Total drivel. Misleading title. Very little of the book is about the subject matter. Instead it is a collection of repetitive snippets where author meets down and outs across Oz who blame their problems on the government.

    2022 - 22) Sing Backwards & Weep - Mark Langean

Enjoyed this account of the authors time in and around Seattle during the grunge period and his time in The Screaming Trees & solo.

Moby autobio of a decade from late 80s through 90s around NYC. Enjoyed the insights and some entertaining stories.

A short book that wasn't great.

    2022 - 25) Atomic Habits - James Clear

This was ok. Felt the start dragging and too self helpy. It picked up a bit of pace from middle to end. Most of the stuff is obvious, but good to remind oneself.

    2022 - 26) Killing Time - Jimmy Barnes

3rd of 3 books by the singer from Cold Chisel. Some interesting autobiographical snippets.

Seemed promising in first half. Got a bit bogged down in second half.

2023 - 2) The Masters and Me - Tiger Woods.

An account of his win at the August 97 Masters. Not the best written book. Seems to have been a collection of thoughts/musings/phone calls recorded and transcribed into a book by a helper. Didn't go into much depth on his personality/background off the course.

Interesting given the hype. Hard to know what is fact or fiction.

2023 - 7) Poorly Made in China - Paul Midler.

Interesting book written just over a decade ago on manufacturing in China.

    2023 - 8) Fire & Blood - G.R.R.Martin.

This was tedious. Got to page 400/700 then skim read the rest. A lot of painfully made up backstory to justify another tv series making money off the back of Games of Thrones.
