    Before I start, I'm not tech-savvy whatsoever. And I am also on a tight enough budget (student).

    But basically, I'm tired of playing my Xbox 360 on a standard 14" tube TV, and having played my friends Xbox on a big HD TV I feel like I'm missing out.

    So is it completely absurd to be on the lookout for a decent HDTV (doesn't need to be big, maybe 19") for around €250 ? And if not, could someone give me some tips on which brand/stores?

    If you are thinking of that small - maybe look at LCD monitors and connect your XBOX using the vga cable. You'll get a new 19" monitor for €200 and it will give you an HD picture from your xbox easily

    So like a computer monitor or something- like Dell? And I'd have to look for the "HD Ready" thing, yeah? And eh, what's this VGA cable?

    Holy... Do they deliver that to Ireland? I Couldn't find terms on delivery.

    That does look like a great deal though, and, yeah, like you I'm not too fussy on the brand, let me know how you get on if you buy it.

    I'd still like to hear more about these monitors though.

    VGA cable -->http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/x/xbox360vgahdcable/

    There is a good article here -->http://hardware.teamxbox.com/reviews/xbox-360/40/Xbox-360-VGA-HD-AV-Cable/p1/

    Baically:
    1080p = 1920x1080 resolution on a pc monitor
    720p = 1280x720 resolution on a pc monitor

    720p is consider HD
    1080p is the new "Full HD"

    you can get both standard aspect (4:3) same as your 14" TV or wide-screen (wide-aspect) monitors (16:9) also

    Cheapish dell monitor ->http://accessories.euro.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=ie&l=en&s=dhs&cs=iedhs1&sku=88221

    BTW I forgot to mention - pc monitors may not have inbuilt speakers - you need to consider that when buying (ie get one with speakers or buy separate speakers)
