I really enjoyed it. ol'd a few times. Like when he puked on the kid. :D

Just read the synopsis and it's only a 6 parter. Boo urns.

Without a doubt the funniest program in ages. I almost puked with laughter myself when that guy through up on the crying kid and as for bumder well you heard it here first

Is it repeated? I'm in bog channel land 'til Monday and I'd really like to see it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,572 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

I had it Sky+ed and watched the first one over breakfast.
I really liked it too.... very funny in places, and refreshingly adult (or juvenile, depending on how you look at it!) :D

I thought it was absolutley great. Like a junior version of Peep Show with the mature type of comedy. Really smart humour as well... Im glad to see Channel 4 still have it because I was getting worried with that Skins crap and that Almost Famous or whatever it was called.

The puking scene and the fella giving yer mans "gay" dad guff were hilaryarse.

I really enjoyed the first two episodes. Comedy and style is somewhat similar to the Peep Show (which is no bad thing) and the main guy is very like a younger version of the chubby guy from the Peep Show.
The scene where he got sick on the brother was very funny.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,788 ✭✭✭tvnutz

I thought it was great. Very surprised actually because it didn't look taht great from the ads,but it was very funny and I laughed so hard when he threw up on the kid, hitting a woman in a wheelchair with a frisbie and then trying to get the frisbe back was also very funny. :D

ya it was really funny. bo-urns is right about having only six parts. I thought the main guy just had something about him which made him hilarious can't really explain what it is. I think its the complete lack of social awareness combined with the fact that he is not self conciouss at all to say whats on his mind

I tried to install it awhile back but my laptop started playing up soon after and I was told to uninstall it just in case. I might try again. Thanks.

Just watching this now. Its very very funny... that scene where he was abusing the dad and saying he was a bumder was hilarious.

Ah great show, just watched em now on E4. it's rare for a comedy to make me laugh and love the characters from episode 1. Looking forward to the rest of the show.

Excellent show! I'm a teenager and i swear it's spot on as regards the way teenagers act/speak/think etc The whole scene in the pub where they paid some random fella to come sit with them so they could buy cider was hilarious. And the dumb kid with the fruit machine ha!!

Watched the first two episodes again last night, possibly funnier the second time around, only one episode tonight at 10:00pm :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,788 ✭✭✭tvnutz

Good episode tonight, not as funny as the last one but still very good. Laughed so hard when he called the handicapped guys inconsiderate a$$holes :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,189 ✭✭✭Gekko

watching a third episode of it now on e4.

it is spot on - reminds me a bit of when I was that age - and very funny

Thought that episode wasn't a patch on the first two, but hopefully just a blip

Agreed, much more like what i initially expected.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 271 ✭✭homerjk

Agreed, that one wasnt as good but still a lot better than some of the trash out there. One thing that struck me last night is that the young lad with the glasses really reminds of some other character on a TV show and I cant put a finger on it. His whole mannerisms and the way he delivers his lines when someone says something stupid are exactly like some other character. I keep thinking its Mark from Peep Show but then when I think about it, its not him either.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,106 ✭✭✭MoominPapa

    A dorkier Marcus Brigstocke perhaps?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,572 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

He reminds me of Richard Ayoade's character Moss in The IT Crowd.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,050 ✭✭✭gazzer

Does anybody else think that the guy who passed his test(cant remember his name) is very like Martin Freeman from The Office. He sounds very like him and looks a bit like him too.

I just love The Inbetweeners.. That exchange where the guys were saying:

"Suppose you need to earn money for your dads rent boys"
"My dad doesnt pay for rent boys"
"You mean he gets them for free" was so funny.

My favourite character is the guy who is obsessed with flange..

Its great having this to watch as well as the new season of Peep Show.. All I need now is a new season of The IT Crowd and I will be a very happy man.

I actually think that is who I am linking the dude with the glasses with! I also thought the young lad that passed his test reminded me off someone but I put it off that I was just getting annoyed because I couldn't place the other lad, but now I think your exactly right, they are both a mix of him!

One scene that was sticking in my head was where the fella who is "a borderline sex pest" was saying something and the glasses lad said something like "Oh are we still doing this now?" and then followed that up with a smart comment and thats when I was like, wow, that seems really familiar and now I can just see Tim from The Office doing it!

Not that it is taking away from it mind you.

P.S. Cant believe someone hasn't mentioned it yet, yer mans mother really is hot! I really must look the characters names so I can stop referring to them as lad, fella and dude.

    I love The Inbetweeners
Last night's episode was so funny

Will "Ohh christ is that a tape deck?"

I wish the episodes were an hour long. I always want more!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,073 ✭✭✭iseegirls

Yeah the constant use of Kate Nash's song "Foundations" being played at least 2 times every episode - it can be annoying.

Are you sure you're not thinking of that lame sitcom where the main character is a young fella in a wheelchair who despairs of the rest of his family?

I was reminded of him for some reason.

But yeah, he's also similar to Marcus Brigstock

Im not even sure what program that is you're referring to, so I don think thats it!

Love it.. That scene where he was talking to the guy in the car and the 2 lads were sitting on the wall just repeating those lines was so funny

    indeed - another quality episode.

Whoever plays the lead character Will does so very well.

Great show really enjoying it. Such a pity its only 6 episodes long. Hopefully they won't prolong the agony and bring on the next series soon enough.

Caught tonights showing - was it new or a repeat (never know with e4) anyway good fun even for an old un like me.

    Mike.

Yeah I saw it tonight for the first time. It's really clever. I loved the guy dancing to Take That.

I think it's an alright show...nothing special..maybe with time it will become better; at the moment, some of the acting, dialogue, plot and jokes are a bit thin,so i'll reserve judgement...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,705 ✭✭✭ciaran76

Just watched the 5 episodes on 4 on demand last night.

I think its a very good show and a shame its onlys 6 episodes.
Maybe they will add another season ?

    fairly decent show

    "Four pints, please!"
    "I'll need proof if ID"
"You have me word" - with the sheer confidence of someone who's convinved this is acceptable!

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,189 ✭✭✭Gekko

    Last episode tonight :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,189 ✭✭✭Gekko

anyone catch tonight's episode - the last one - great line in it:

    "That sounded a bit rapey."

    Quality!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,763 ✭✭✭✭Princess Consuela Bananahammock

Was a bit of a let down - not as good as the last five, anyway. Perhaps my expectations were a bit high...?

Had to laugfh at the "jazzy" suits and Neil hitting on the Biology teacher....

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,005 ✭✭✭✭Toto Wolfcastle

It wasn't as good as usual. Neil was funny at the 'prom'.

Just watching episode one and it's excellent. One of the funniest things I've seen in a long time. The voice over is excellent and the opening scenes last line "My mistake, he's a wanker" had me in stitches.

Edit: Just after watching episode 2 and the scene where Simon gets sick all over the kid I literally fell out of my seat.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 707 ✭✭✭seabee

Does anyone know if it's repeated? 4OD won't work on my PC

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,788 ✭✭✭tvnutz

Last episode wasn't as good as the rest but there were still some good bits. The principal or year head guy is great.

Hopefully it will get another season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,198 ✭✭✭✭Crash

Aye i'd agree the last episode nowhere near as good as the others. Your man the year head is a comedian called Greg Davies, his standup is hilarious too :)
