The Boards Summer Beach Body Super Challenge: Week 6

    And so another week begins.

    Eating well at work isn't a problem; get up, eat eggs, put snacks and lunch in bag, go to work, eat pre-prepared food all day, come home eeat healthy dinner using fresh meat and veg in fridge. Repeat Mon through Friday.

    Weekends though, are a beatch, and this one was particularly awkward as I'm in the process of moving and trying to stay food-organised is a nightmare. It was a messy couple of days food-wise, and there was a whole bottle of wine drunk on Saturday night to compensate for the stress that had been endured (how on earth have I accumulated so much crap that needs packing?!?!) but all I can do is get over it and mvoe forward. I'll need to be really good with my food choices this week as I have a big family gathering at the weekend and a posh frock to fit into. Now, where's that yoghurt I gone to...

    ye last weekend between thursday and sunday was a "bit" of a disaster and everything I had lost from up till mid week came back on so stats are all the same as last sunday. However after this weekend (i.e. the last home leinster game) I am going to be going off the drink till approx 20th of june :( (exact date to be confirmed) so this should help me in the post summer challenge when I try to lean out further.

    Well last week went ok , I have found myself snacking on nuts a bit too much, every time I pass this kitchen !! although healthy choice still all adds up. SO this week I am gonna be rigid and try and stick to no picking.

    Measurement are the same except I lost andother.5 off my waist. And last night I added up all my inche loss, and that included with my .5 loss this week is 10.5 inches all together ! Its brilliant when you look at it like that !

    :eek: Yes! Amazing! I've lost around 3 inches since the beginning, and I'm very pleased with that but that's very impressive :D

    Here's mine, I'm happy with my waist, and seeing a (little) difference on my upper body

    Measurements are in cm:
    Beginning:__Week 5__________Week 6
    Neck_________38_____________37.5
    Chest________93_____________93
    Bicep________29______________29
    Wrist________16.5____________16.5
    Waist________87 (34.2")______85.5(33.6")
    Hips_________93.5____________93.5
    Top of legs____88.5____________86.5
    Knee________36______________36
    Calf_________35.5_____________36

    The funny thing is though my weight on the scales has barly changed !! Dont really understand as people have been saying there is no way a women could be gaining muscle that would equate to a couple of pounds.. I have lost inches , I look leaner, and look more toned so I am happy with that. I dont think I will weigh myself this week as it has been putting a downer on things becuase it hasnt moved that much !

    Weekends are just so hard!! Was really good Mon - Fri, but of course Friday night came and half a bottle of wine had to be consumed :D:o Saturday was at a gig, so had about 5 bottles of Coors Light, meaning that my entire weekend was a blowout in terms of my '10 units'. Foodwise, I did my best, there was no chipper food after the gig Sat nite, which I know I would have had were it not for the challenge. I had a ryvita with extra light cream cheese instead. Best of a bad lot!

    Can't believe we're into Week 6 :D I'm so proud of myself that I'm still going!! Feeling good, but a way to go yet!

    Has anyone noticed this problem? Because I've lost inches on my waist, I'm finding that my trousers are hanging lower and I end up standing on the ends of my trouser legs, really annoying :rolleyes:

    Yeah....what a bitch;)

    I think the first time I realised I could take my jeans off without undoing the button was the single most annoying thing ever..!!

    Oh god I hate buying jeans now. None of the waist sizes match up with my leg size. I am 32 waist with a bit of room to spare yet now when I wear my 32 jeans they're bet onto my legs :-(

    I've had to start going up to 34's and wearing a tight belt. Its not very comfy at all.

    Now chinos are fine - but way too preppy, like Carlton Banks from Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

    Does anybody else have this problem and where do they get jeans from?

    All measurements in cm and taken when muscles relaxed. First set taken on March 27th, second set April 29th. Some progress in most places. I hope human error with the tape measurement didn't play a part.

    chest: (nl) 92.5 --> 93.5 (+1)
    bicep: right 34.5 left 34 --> right 35 left 35 (+0.5, +1)
    wrist: right 18.25 left 18 --> right 18.5 left 18 (no change)
    waist: (bb) 82 --> 82 (no change)
    hips: 88 --> 84 (-4)
    top of legs (ubc): 94 --> 93 (-1)
    knee: (iakc) right 42 left 42 --> right 43.5 left 43.5 (+1.5, +1.5)
    calf: right 40 left 39.75 --> right 40 left 39.75 (+0, +0)
    bodyweight: 73 kg ish ??? --> 73.5 kg(+ 0.5 kg) ... edited because I found out my scales were giving an incorrect reading
    bodyfat: 10% ish ??? --> ~9% (-1%)

    Measurements for Week 6
    Neck Same
    Chest - .625"
    Bicep -0.125"
    Wrist Same
    Waist -1.5"
    Hips -0.75"
    Top of legs -0.125"
    Knee Same
    Calf +0.125"

    Body Weight Same - 10 Stone (140lbs)

    Happy with the measurements, especially the waist, chest and hips. Feeling good, did a good session in gym on Monday - finding the jogging on treadmill great. Wish I was better but will keep it up and note progress.

    Worked late last nite, so couldn't make gym. :( Was actually really disappointed!! Tonight will be a Boxercise class, which I hope to warm up for with a 20 min treadmill jog/walk mix. Get the blood flowing!

    Was sick again last week and only managed one session in the gym with my revised programme. I am starting to feel better today. I had to work through my sickness and the stress of it all i couldnt eat at all..

    Anyway, I am down 2lbs and i forgot my measurement so will update these later. Heading to the gym tonight and getting my weights programme and tomorrow will be the start of my new cardio & weights programme..

    I have a wedding at the end of may, new york for a week in June and then a 3 week Calafornian holiday in Aug/Sept so I phsyed myself up enough and looking forward to the gym now.

    Yep - it's catching up on me alright. I spent yesterday afternoon just craving a cup of coffee and a bar of chocolate... Didn't have it though.

    Got home from work, girlfriend was in the dumps so decided to bring her out for dinner - steak for me, but 4 pints of Guinness as well.

    I've a wedding this Saturday, we're staying the Friday night as well, so this weekend is going to be a total write-off...

    It's not an ideal situation - but make sensible choices! That's all - think twice before you order, don't let your eyes do the ordering, think of your belly :D

    Yea I'll try to be good for the rest of the weekend, although you know yourself, all you want the next morning is a big dirty fry!

    Savour it - my first one last night was delicious, although it didn't last too long, was gone in a couple of mouthfuls

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 510 ✭✭✭lindak

    Ye its crazy how much I savour my treats now when every second week comes around ! Even after the 8 weeks is over I think I will stick to this and just have a treat every 2 weeks ! Going to the cinema this weekend so maybe some choc brazil nuts will go down a treat !

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,111 ✭✭✭joker77

    Chocolate brazil nuts is still a pretty good treat! Mine last week was a pizza, felt like crap after it as well, it really didn't digest, just sat in my stomach all day. Won't be doing that again any time soon

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 510 ✭✭✭lindak

    Well the choc isnt that good ! But I love them there my favorite !!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,111 ✭✭✭joker77

    Still good for a treat I reckon - if you're only having chocolate to coat your brazil nuts every 2 weeks you're playing a blinder! (in ones humble opinion)

    I haven't posted, weighed or measured myself (too depressing) very often since the challenge began but my trousers are definitely feeling looser and I feel so much better about myself.
    I am not eating the perfect diet but have made big changes - really cleaning up my eating and exercising a lot more regularly.
    I have sore thighs & abs today after weights yesterday but I feel so much better now that I am actually doing something about my weight.
    Plan to keep this up after the challenge, just need to cut out the hot chocolates that have been creeping in lately :)

    Just ate me second pizza in three days :( didn't finish it but still...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 938 ✭✭✭blah

    Because of GTA IV I missed a couple of sessions in the gym, but I'm going tonight and I'm all set to run 8km tomorrow. I originally ran 5km at the beginning of the challenge, and now I'm up to 7km (further than I've ever run before) and I'll definitely achieve 10km at the end of week 8 :D I will be really proud of that.
