Will this help in the break-down of fat?

Yes it does, but the effect is marginal and depends on your diet. What's your diet like? There's been alot of discussion about Lecithin over on the forums on mindandmuscle.net but from what I could see it didn't seem to be any kind of wonder-substance anyway.

I would classify my diet as 'improving'. I would generally eat two good meals a day - either breakfast and dinner or lunch and dinner, depending. Breakfast would usually be porridge/toast/tea, lunch soup/bread roll and for dinner I'd have white meat with pasta or rice. Rarely would things deviate much from that. I've cut out soft drinks - which was really tough for me - and I don't snack between meals.

    You're eating twice a day?

Thats what he's claiming! but as we all know thats a disaster from the start, eat small and regular, every 3 hours..

Yeah. Is that a problem? I eat well like. I just don't snack. I'm not opting to gain weight and I'm not hugely into resistance training.

If you are looking to burn bodyfat then eating every 3 hours would be much better than eating twice a day.

What about a calorie deficit? I figure dropping 500 calories a day will lose me 1pound a week - combine that with a decent amount of cardio and I'm on to a good thing, no? I assume the eating every three hours would involve a small amount of food?

Yeah exactly, instead of larger meals only twice or three times a day, people often find that they are more energetic and find it easier to lose weight and stick to diets when they eat smaller amounts more frequently. It makes you much less likely to get a blood-sugar crash (which can happen after a large meal due to a surge of the 'storage' hormone, insulin and makes you feel lethargic and snacky) and you never have to go through long periods of being hungry. I get the impression that you're fairly new to this, so it might be a good idea to flick through the stickies - especially the ones about diet.
