I see that Spencer Tunick is coming to Ireland this summer to photograph naked crowds.

Saturday 21st June, Docklands is the Dublin venue.
Tuesday 17th June will be the Cork shoot.

im surprised it's coming to Ireland, he did this in Barcelona before, but I would have thought
Ireland is still too narrow minded for this ..

He has taken photos in cities that include Bruges, Buenos Aires, Buffalo, Lisbon, London, Lyon, Melbourne, Montreal, Rome, San Sebastián, São Paulo, Caracas, Newcastle/Gateshead, Vienna, Düsseldorf, Helsinki, Santiago, Mexico City and Amsterdam.

He certainly loves to travel. I'm sure it'll be an interesting shoot, especially now with such a mix of nationalities in Ireland. I'm sure it'll be a success for him, if the weather holds.

Paulw won't be signing up for this. He wouldn't even allow his picture be taken, with all his clothes on, in a dark, Rathmines pub.

As for the photography, I don't think there's anything inspiring about it, but the logistics do deserve an honourable mention.

Bit nervous as a bloke though - women have a natural advantage in that respect, if you know what I mean. Maybe I could hold a bag of frozen peas on it for while first or something just to relax him.

Me naked in public like that would be fairly limited in my view. Only problem is that I'm 6'2'' and 19 stone. Does that count for 2 people to get the numbers up and will I get two copies of the print? I'd say that it would be a bit of crack myself (no pun intended). Can he guarantee the sunshine, even if it is June? Like Borderfox said, hypothermia is a possibility.

From the Independent - 1,359 volunteers had signed up at www.spencertunickireland.ie for Dublin and 539 for Cork event at the private photo shoots.

Looks like it'll be a busy day in Dublin. Lets hope it's not cold and wet. :eek:

well apparently there were a good few females at this - tough luck guys maybe ye should have joined in. I was listening to Ray Darcy on the radio after he took part and it seemed like everyone though it was a worthwhile exercise - whatever one might think of the photography it's a good feat of logistics and direction

I did the Cork one, was pretty bloody cold alright, over an hour in the buff, including lying down in the grass. Was more concerned with the cold than with my nakedness.

Was good fun though, nerve wracking when we got the order to strip, but then I was one of the first to walk out in front of the press cameras. After about a minute it became pretty normal since everybody else was as well.

Definitely made me feel more comfortable about stripping off.

Can't wait to get my print, hope I can find me in it.
